Calling All Mermaids!

September 16th, 2008 @ 6:26 pm by Mrs. Champagne

So, just when I thought that I’d researched high and low for type of veil that would work with my dress, I discovered a new trend—the mermaid veil.

I’m a little crazy for the mantilla veil. It’s the lace that gets me every time. I’m also a little crazy for the mermaid cut/trumpet style dress. So, can you imagine my surprise when I saw a veil that combined my two favorite fashions: lace and the mermaid flare? Weeeeeee!

Introducing the mer-veil!

Described as “a mermaid style cathedral length Alençon lace wedding veil. Hand beaded with sequins and pearls, or can be left plain” by longlivethemarriage.com’s couture collection.

Can you see the resemblance?

All these new trends never cease to amaze me! How will I ever keep up?

Has anyone ever seen a mer-veil before? Do you think it would look good with a fit-to-flare wedding dress, or would it be just too much “mer”?

I’m intrigued but would definitely like to see it on an actual bride!

Too much mer? I don’t know, but now all I can think of is “mer-MAN, mer-MAN!”

This is a first for me! It could be PERFECT for a fit and flair dress…. depending on where that lace line hits. You dont want it distracting from the dress, but you also dont want that unique touch being lost in the design of the dress.

I love the veil. It give it a little extra something.

I’ve never really been a veil-type of girl, but this one could make me rethink that! It’s gorgeous!

Ok, i’m allowed to say this becasue I”M IN THE WEDDING :)!!

I don’t like it, I LOVE the other one you picked out. I think this one has to much going on. You want the focus to be on the dress and not so much the veil. But what do I know, I’m just a bridesmaid.
