Meeting Miss Meatball

September 16th, 2008 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Meatball

Whattup Hive—thanks for the convivial welcome yesterday! This has been a dream of mine since I discovered the ’bee last October. I’d been counting the months until I’d be eligible to apply… and I can hardly believe that I am now Miss Meatball!

It may seem odd for a vegetarian to choose a meaty moniker, but I happen to love soy meatballs and irony. And describing myself as a meatball just feels right. Food related, naturally, but unpretentious. Plus, Mr. Meatball is my new favorite pet name for the future husby. It bounces off the lips so nicely!

I’m super excited to share my wedding planning shenanigans with you. We’ve already been engaged nearly a year, but thank goodness, because we need all the time we can get! Sometimes it feels like planning on a budget only leaves a gal with two choices—compromise, or go in debt for your dreams. I say, not so! We try hard to keep things spicy so the budget blues don’t get us down—and we’re living proof that you can have your cake (or cheese, or, ooh…. cheesecake) and eat it too. Stick with me kids, I’ll show you ’round the sandbox…

In the meantime, let’s play random facts:

I have a phobia of the open sea. I especially loathe the critters out there, but also just the sheer volume of… undiscovered depths. I like lakes.

I think William Shatner’s album “Has Been” is one of the most underrated records ever.

I love zombie movies. But let’s be clear, I like my zombies slow and stupid. None of this fast and manic nonsense!

I’m a complete water snob.

There you have it. Me in a nutshell. I can’t wait to get to know you all better—and for you to enjoy the meatiness of my balls. ;)

I am terrified of open water period. I don’t like lakes either. Once time I went to a sturgeon farm in Oregon, and from the top, it looked like a normal pond. Underneath they had one of those glass window things, and you could see dozens of 10-foot long, freaky looking fish swimming around! Terrifying! You never know what’s in there….

Also, I think cold water tastes better than room temperature water.

Love you! I can’t wait to read more so please post often!
I as well hate all open natural water sources. Kind of funny since I am getting married on a beach! I like to go about waist deep and that’s it! Oh and looking at it is nice too!
