Shoes and Makeup

With so many September and October Bees getting married, it’s already time to start thinking about our next batch of characters! Several of you have suggested shoes and makeup as potential categories in the past, but neither had enough options to fill up a generation of 10 characters. So we thought we’d combine them!

Shoes can include: stiletto, ballet flat, flip flop, cowboy boot, d’orsay, sneaker, galoshes/wellies…

Makeup is a little trickier: lipstick/lipgloss, blush, perfume are all pretty cute, but would anyone would want to be Miss foundation, concealer, eye shadow, mascara?

We need your help — please give us your suggestions for the 10 cutest shoe and makeup characters!

I suppose it would be difficult to use something like Converse with the brand name involved, but I love me some fuzzy slippers, and what about some snow boots or ski boots?

Also, I’m with you on not being to sure on the foundation, eye shadow or mascara, but I think “Miss Concealer” is an amusing title.

What about what you DO with the makeup? Like “Miss Manicure” or “Miss Pedicure”, “Miss Facial” (although that’s not really using make-up, but I like it!), “Miss Makeover”, does hairspray count as make-up? I like “Miss Hairspray”!!!

Hmm . . . now that I think of it, how about dance styles? I know it’s not an object, but Miss Tango sounds better than Miss Mukluk. (Though I do love makeup and shoes . . .)

My favorite shoes are ones I wear for tango dancing and since you were looking for ten names, I thought that since ballroom has ten dances (International Standard and International Latin), why not suggest dances.

Waltz, Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, ChaCha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive - could substitute with Mambo, East Coast Swing, etc.

I’m partial to the cowboy boot, but I love the ideas for the shoes… I’m definitely a shoe-aholic.

I love flip-flop, peep-toe, stiletto, galoshes, wedge, sling-back… and especially cowboy boot.

I have one to add to the shoe category - how about Miss Moccasin?

Also, I thought of another category that could be wedding-related: how about lingerie? We’re all going to be wearing some pieces under our gowns (I hope)! It doesn’t have to be too risque - you could use names like Miss Nightie, Camisole, Pajamas, Corset, Baby Doll, Thigh Highs / stockings, Boy Shorts, Garter, Robe, Slippers…

I would like to second Miss Powder Puff (a white fluffy icon with a pink ribbon on top is too cute) and Miss Bunny Slippers (!). I know a lot of people would really like Miss Glitter/ Sparkle and makeup would be the only way to create an icon for that. If you are going to stretch the categories, Miss Bubblebath is a crowd-pleaser.

@Mrs. Bee: While I can understand why you’d want the characters wedding related, I’m concerned that this generation could alienate potential male applicants(as well as less girly-girls)…I mean, would guys want to have a shoe/make-up nickname?

I’ve only ever thought of the last two generations (hors d’oeuvres and drinks) being wedding related(well, and flowers I suppose). I like the animals(and food and drinks) better in part because to me they seem more gender neutral.

What about adding colors to the makeup? Like Hot Rod Red, Berry Bliss and Cranberry Crush for lipsticks/gloss’s and Cherry Cheeks or Necter cream for blushes, so on and so on… just to add a spice to the names. As for the mascara they could be Ebony Eyes, or Midnight Lashes.

I think a male applicant would be able to find an appropriate shoe, High-tops, boots, steel-toe, sneakers, top-siders, sandals are all either sex.

Condiments are cute, not sure how many you could get out of it though. Maybe Miss Mayo instead of Mayonnaise though it makes me think of Patty on Doug. Mustard, Ketchup, Relish, Mayo, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Horseradish, Pickle (dill?). It makes me think of a lot of others though, like herbs or cheeses.

Miss Eyeliner/Kohl would be awesome. As would Miss Mary Jane, particularly for the more alternative brides.

For other categories, how about herbs like rosemary, oregano, paprika etc. Or maybe patterns like pinstripe, herringbone, check, tartan, polka dot. Items of wedding clothing like veils, gloves, corset, tiara, sash, cravat, tuxedo.

Hm… I can’t say I like this shoe or makeup idea as much as what you’ve had so far, but for shoes, I’d love to see a miss mary jane.

I’m also not sure why you don’t think anyone would want miss eyeshadow or miss mascara. I think they work as well as miss lipstick visually, and there are certainly major devotees of both product types!
