Our NY Wedding Shower!

September 17th, 2008 @ 9:25 am by Mrs. Coconut

Over Labor Day weekend, my future mother-in-law graciously hosted a wedding shower for us in New York. She worked very hard in preparing the delicious menu and recruiting assistance with inventing new games, and getting enough men to come!

I don’t have many pictures, but for you men out there thinking that showers are lame, I promise you they can be somewhat enjoyable. As you can see from the pictures, Mr. Coconut found ways to make it fun!

We did! Our shower was a Hawaiian/Honeymoon Themed shower. My fiance won the game where you make the wedding dress out of TP, yep he was the bride. A lot of his friends were there, it turned out great.

Oh, how cute! Your hair is so long and silky, coconut!
My moh and mom are inviting Mr. Meaty and my dad, but those are the only boys I think. I love the co-ed thing!

We had a coed shower and my fiance did great, I was very impressed. He acted excited about every gift…..I’ll admit, it was nice to have the attention on both of us and not just me! :) The other men who were in attendance seemed to have a good time too…give them beer, and they all do fine. Although they all seemed to feel more comfortable saying they were at a “Jack & Jill Party” and not a shower! Ha.

My ex attended our wedding shower. I was SO relieved to have him there since I didn’t know a lot of his family and he could kind of whisper who was who as they came in. However, he was the only guy there, so I think he felt a tad out of place and he seemed a little nervous the whole time…

anyhow, I think it’s cute to get the guys involved, if they want to be there :)

I’ve been to 3 co-ed showers, but presents were only opened @ one of them… the groom got overly excited about the present, I think it made it more fun for him… the other showers were more parties than showers, but they were called showers… have I used the word shower enough?
