Mrs. Champagne's Picture
Mrs. Champagne, DC/Vail/Colorado Age and Occupation: 26, Eye Doctor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Attorney Engagement Date: March 13, 2006 Wedding Date: February 2009 Blogging Since: July 30, 2008 Venue: Small church ceremony with mountain-view log cabin reception About Me: I'm a small town mountain girl with a city heart. Found my way to the east coast, and Mr. Champagne kept me here so we're planning a wedding from afar in my hometown Vail, Colorado. I'm secretly obsessed with reality TV, Wii games where I can shoot a gun, country music, and Caesar: Dog Whisperer. I also spend time pretending to golf, backseat driving, having one way conversations with our MinPin Maxwell, loving champagne, and wedding perfecting… I mean, planning. I use way too many repeated symbols and letters when I write, and I'll love Mr. Champagne endlessly…
About Mrs. Champagne

Choosing our bridal party was actually one of the easier decisions for both myself and Champ. It pretty much came down to the basics: family, significant others, and a few close friends. Both Champ and I have been struggling with the whole MOH/BM thing, and ultimately we decided that it would be best not to have a best man or maid of honor. We’re just so close to each of our friends and family in entirely different ways.

We’ll start with my side of the line-up: The lady Champs (in no specific order)

The Champ Line-up Part 1: The Lady Champs : wedding bridesmaid vail Pic01
Future mom of the year Lady Champ: FSIL lady champ is Champ’s oldest sister. She is the most sincere, genuine friend and can probably answer any question you have about math/science/geography/you name it. She’s currently a high school science teacher, and will soon be a first time mother/future mom of the year!!

The Champ Line-up Part 1: The Lady Champs : wedding bridesmaid vail Champ1.jpg

Princess Champ: Truly one of a kind. She’s a wonderful friend, confidant, and girly girl. You’ve seen her pink morganite engagement ring, and you’ll probably be witness to a few of her wedding details if she’ll allow me to help!

The Champ Line-up Part 1: The Lady Champs : wedding bridesmaid vail Champ2.jpg

True friend forever Lady Champ: Cheesy as it may sound, this lady Champ is one of my oldest and most dear friends. We’ve been through EVERYTHING together, from awkward first dates and prom experiences to life changing family events. My dad calls this lady Champ his second daughter, and I couldn’t imagine getting married without her support.

“Sweet Pea” Champ: Also one of my hometown Vail friends. We’ve shared so many memorable experiences, and she’s always been so supportive. The two of us actually worked together one summer as landscapers. No, not just flower girls- real landscapers. By the end of the summer, we were hauling huge bags of fertilizer (aka poop) and digging some serious holes. I’ve NEVER been in that kind of shape before!

The Champ Line-up Part 1: The Lady Champs : wedding bridesmaid vail Champ4.jpg

“Miss Thang” Lady Champ: My one of a kind cousin. She’s an actress… enough said!! We’ve been close friends for so long and share a special bond- we’re both adopted into this wonderful family! She recently started a wedding photography business in Dallas, and she’ll most likely shoot some day-after photos for us. Remember the snow angel photo?! We hope to re-create! Look close: you might recognize the face of Kiss my Face cosmetics.

The Champ Line-up Part 1: The Lady Champs : wedding bridesmaid vail Champ5.jpg

Dr. Lady Champ: One of my closest friends from school in Boston. She’s a southern gal, with the patience and accent to match and is also expecting her first baby! I’m always inspired by her ability to listen, and she often calms my “inner storm” when I’m a little worked up! You know those friends you can rely on at all times? She’s mine. :)

So there you have it, the Lady Champs. Each bridesmaid is so different, and I can’t wait to share our day with them.

Do you think it’s necessary to have a Maid of Honor or Best Man when you’re equally close to all of your bridal party?

I don’t think it’s necessary to have a MOH or Best man.

P.S. Most of the pictures aren’t showing up :(

I don’t think it is necessary either. I’m lucky that my sister and I are close and she will be my MOH, makes it easy and no ones feelings get hurt either :)

You are beautiful! My girls were the opposite. I made 2 of them my MOH’s because I couldn’t decide.

Our bridal party is going to be 16 people when all is said and done. I have to confess that I keep adding people to the list. Oops.

I have 2 MOHs and 2 BMs. Mr Y wanted all four of his guys to be Best Men, and I was fine with that, but eventually he picked one.

Your hair looks so perfect in the first photo. Do you remember how you styled it to make it look that great?

I think it only matters if you want it to matter. Its so wonderful that you have so many people you are close with! Me and Mr. Wolff will most likely have an uneven bridal party because we don’t want to ask people just to ask them.

@blackjack: kinda funny you ask, I was just talking about this! That was at Champ’s sister’s wedding, and I wore the 23″ Jessica Simpson HairUWear extension piece. You can read a little more about it at one of my previous entries, but it’s something I highly recommend!!

@blackjack: It’s funny you ask that- I was JUST talking about this with someone! That was at Champ’s sister’s wedding, and I wore the 23″ wavy piece from Jessica Simpson HairUWear. I wrote about it in a previous entry below if you want some more info, but it’s something I highly recommend!

Definitely fine not to have MOH or Best Man if that’s not your thing. You could give each of them a different responsibility so you know everything’s covered and they’re all included.

Haha, I was going to say the same thing about your hair. I love it! Except, mine won’t look as nice, because I don’t know how to curl my hair! =(

You are your Lady Champs are all so beautiful!
