Choosing our bridal party was actually one of the easier decisions for both myself and Champ. It pretty much came down to the basics: family, significant others, and a few close friends. Both Champ and I have been struggling with the whole MOH/BM thing, and ultimately we decided that it would be best not to have a best man or maid of honor. We’re just so close to each of our friends and family in entirely different ways.
We’ll start with my side of the line-up: The lady Champs (in no specific order)

Future mom of the year Lady Champ: FSIL lady champ is Champ’s oldest sister. She is the most sincere, genuine friend and can probably answer any question you have about math/science/geography/you name it. She’s currently a high school science teacher, and will soon be a first time mother/future mom of the year!!
Princess Champ: Truly one of a kind. She’s a wonderful friend, confidant, and girly girl. You’ve seen her pink morganite engagement ring, and you’ll probably be witness to a few of her wedding details if she’ll allow me to help!

True friend forever Lady Champ: Cheesy as it may sound, this lady Champ is one of my oldest and most dear friends. We’ve been through EVERYTHING together, from awkward first dates and prom experiences to life changing family events. My dad calls this lady Champ his second daughter, and I couldn’t imagine getting married without her support.
“Sweet Pea” Champ: Also one of my hometown Vail friends. We’ve shared so many memorable experiences, and she’s always been so supportive. The two of us actually worked together one summer as landscapers. No, not just flower girls- real landscapers. By the end of the summer, we were hauling huge bags of fertilizer (aka poop) and digging some serious holes. I’ve NEVER been in that kind of shape before!
“Miss Thang” Lady Champ: My one of a kind cousin. She’s an actress… enough said!! We’ve been close friends for so long and share a special bond- we’re both adopted into this wonderful family! She recently started a wedding photography business in Dallas, and she’ll most likely shoot some day-after photos for us. Remember the snow angel photo?! We hope to re-create! Look close: you might recognize the face of Kiss my Face cosmetics.
Dr. Lady Champ: One of my closest friends from school in Boston. She’s a southern gal, with the patience and accent to match and is also expecting her first baby! I’m always inspired by her ability to listen, and she often calms my “inner storm” when I’m a little worked up! You know those friends you can rely on at all times? She’s mine.
So there you have it, the Lady Champs. Each bridesmaid is so different, and I can’t wait to share our day with them.
Do you think it’s necessary to have a Maid of Honor or Best Man when you’re equally close to all of your bridal party?
