Engaged and Properly Airbrushed

Two weeks ago, Mr. Dumpling and I were lucky enough to get a free engagement session by one of, if not THE, best photographers in town, BLR Life. I scored the free session after attending a bridal event benefiting FEAT, Families for Effective Autism Treatment of Southern Nevada. If you are in Las Vegas when they hold the event next year, you MUST go!
I have to admit, I was very nervous about taking engagement pictures. I’m not the type of person who likes to be all kissy-kissy in public and I had a feeling I’d have to do just that. Luckily, Mr. Dumpling was there to calm me down. He’s a pro at photo shoots, so he kept making fun of me so I’d laugh and give Adam, our photographer, something to work with. 
When we got them back, we were AMAZED. They must have had access to Mariah’s retoucher, because while I’d love to tell you guys that I look like this everyday, it would just be a big honkin’ lie. My normal look usually involves gym clothes (that, funny enough, have never seen the insides of a gym before) a couple of pony-tail holders and socks. Mr. Dumpling, however, looks like this all the time.
Ok- I’ll be quiet now and give you the goods…..
We saw this truck downtown while we were shooting, and the owner was nice enough to let us use it. My dad collects vintage cars, so this set of pictures made him so happy!
And here’s where he starts being kissy-kissy….I’m such a dork.
We took these pictures in the art district near downtown Las Vegas. Before then, I never even knew it existed. So, if you’re looking for somewhere in your hometown to take your e-pics, you might try looking somewhere a little off the beaten path. You never know what you might find behind an old crusty building!
I’m very happy with the results and I highly recommend BLR Life to anyone looking for chic wedding photos. Thank you so much Brittany, Carissa and Jessica. Thanks especially to Adam, our photographer, who made us feel so comfortable goofing off and being lovey-dovey in front of him. You guys are the bee’s knees!

You guys are total hotties! And the pics are amazing - love your hair and makeup!! We loved our e-pics. We went “off the beaten path” to a local park where I used to play as a little kid. Some of my fav pics were in front of an “old crusty building”!!

Great pics!! To answer your question, unfortunately our e-pics were not up to our (read: MY) standards. I had grand visions of pics taken on the beaches of the Outer Banks, NC. While we had them taken there, they, ahem, sucked. Luckily, my FI has agreed that when we choose our photographer for the wedding, we’ll do a re-shoot. Boo me for being a Debbie Downer. You and Mr. Dumpling look the hottness

What a breathtaking couple!!! Your photos are fantastic!!! Oh I’m so jealous, we DIY-ed our engagement photos and even though my fiance is a dead-ringer for Vince Vaughn, they do not have the airbrushed yumminess that you have!

About Me: I grew up in the Deep South, and while most people say I have a thick southern accent, I tend to think it only comes out when I need to use it. Living in Las Vegas has definitely been an adventure and Mr. Dumpling and I are loving every minute of it! We are planning a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony and a reception with lots of DIY!
