Hair

September 21st, 2008 @ 4:08 pm by Mrs. Spring Roll

I have long, bland, pin straight hair. It won’t hold a long loose curl for the life of me, and is bumpy if I try to put it up. Thanks to Florida’s heat and humidity, I rarely wear my hair down. It usually resides in a side pony tail or sloppy side bun. Both of which I do not want to wear on our wedding day.

(Can you tell I love animals?)

As for my wedding day hair, I have decided to wear my hair in a low semi-messy bun with my veil underneath the bun. Here are a few styles I have in mind:

Do you have straight hair but long for curls, or vice versa on your wedding day?

The photos of you + animals are awesome! I have pretty straight hair too, but wore mine in a style similar to the one in the fourth photo. Straight thin hair + curling iron + hairspray + bobby pins = curly bun that lasted the whole day.

I’ve got extremely straight, long hair as well, and that last style is what I showed my stylist at my trial. I’m going for something a little looser, I think, but I definitely want curl. Anything can be done with enough hairspray. ;)

i do hair for theatre pretty regularly and just know: with the right product, ANYBODY can have curly hair all day.
if it really likes to fall out, there’s a product by got2be called hair glue…it comes in a big yellow can and it will hold hair to a ridiculous degree and can be found at Walgreens or target.

i have immensely big, curly hair. 360/365 days i hate it. i wish so much that i had straight hair, and could do things like in those pictures you posted, but it’s impossible. i have no idea what i’m going to do on my wedding day. i guess i’ll just rock the afro. :)

@katie: Thank you :) I wash my face twice a day (morning and night) with Clean & Clear oil free foaming facial cleanser, after that I apply Clean & Clear oil free dual action moisturizer.

@jaxies: Thanks for the info, I will check it out.

@JanieLeigh: http://www.projectwedding.com/photo/browse?tag=hair%20curly has a lot of great photos of curly hairstyles. I’m sure you will find a great style, good luck :)

My hair is pretty much just like yours, so I’m not holding out much hope for an elaborate hairstyle on the day, because unless my entire head is thick with hairspray, it’s not going to stay. I really wish I had curly hair, but it is not meant to be.

My hair SUX! I have long, stick-straight, thin hair. Once I even got hair extensions, but I got really embarrassed when one of them fell out in the middle of a restaurant. Ha! I think Im just gonna wear it down for the big day. I might even do it myself=)

I love the photos you’ve chosen, the first on is my favorite! I happen to be one of those lucky girls with straight hair when I want it straight and curly hair when I want it curly. But I know that good hair salons will be able to make your hair and curls stay put!

I have super straight hair as well, that doesn’t hold a curl (only ugly little kinks once in a while!)

One of my close friends who has even straighter-than-mine hair decided she wanted “Victoria Secret” hair for her wedding- down loose, bouncy, totally curly hair. I’ve never seen her hair curl, EVER. And her wedding was on the beach. But her hairstylist made it happen. It was amazing–but just a story to say anything is doable, if you really wanted to!
