Flower Girl Dress Up Party

September 23rd, 2008 @ 5:20 pm by Mrs. Espresso

I’m so so so excited!! We finally received our flower girl dress in the mail. Since before I started writing on Weddingbee, I’ve wanted to get her dress at Monsoon. I saw a Real Wedding in a Martha Stewart Wedding magazine and loved the dresses the bride found at Monsoon. They looked like girls playing dress up, and that’s exactly how I wanted our flower girl Madison to feel.

One problem - they only ship to the United Kingdom… leaving this Pacific Ocean girl sad. So what did I do? I scoured e-bay for a Monsoon dress to my liking, in good condition, and in our flower girl’s size for 6 months!!! A little obsessive I know. My friends and family told me to give up about 3 months ago, but I loved the Monsoon dresses, and the prices were really reasonable for how beautiful they were. Well my loves, my wish came true 2 weeks ago, because the dress finally went up for bid and I won!

Check out our gorgeous flower girl dress. Oh, and the final price with shipping: $38…

Niiicceee

I love all the intricate bead and sequin detailing

I love our flower girl dress so much - but I had to dedicate a lot of time and sanity to finding it. How’s your search coming?

That’s great. We found my future step daughter’s dress(she’s 8) @ the Nordstrom Rack for $29! What was crazy was #1.We weren’t looking, so it was way lucky. #2. It was an adult size small, she wears kids size 7… yet it’s perfect, we’re just having it taken in a bit!

PS. It sure would have been a super short dress on a woman!

I’m an English bride but love visiting the hive every day to find out tips from the american bees. It’s funny that you love Monsoon so much, it is lovely, but I love all your stores in America and have arranged to be able to have things shipped to me through ACCESS US mail service to England. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side and maybe I should set up something similar here for a small fee.

hanmay you need to set up something. The stuff there is great, why is it that there are locations in every country but the US. I was seeing they have stores in Japan and how I could ship it to relatives there but alas no only in the UK. We need monsoon in the states. Someone start a petition. That dress is adorable.

I totally know the spread you’re talking about, and that’s exactly what I wanted for the little ones in our ceremony! I didn’t have any luck finding the exact Monsoon dress, so I opted for a plainer dress, but jazzed up sparkle shoes. I’m glad you were able to find it!!

Thanks everybody!!!!!
@haselwand: You’re welcome! And don’t worry- I did the exact same thing- that’s how I saw they didn’t ship here
@Jendexter: wow you totally lucked out! Nice price! And I love Nordstrom Rack!
@hanmay: That’ so funny… I guess the grass is always greener on the other side because I love tons of stuff that’s only in the Uk. And if you would have set that up before I found the dress- I would have totally taken you up on that offer! :)
@toots: I LOVE Sparkle shoes!!!
