Mrs. Candy Corn, Philadelphia Age and Occupation: 24, Senior Editor/Writer & Freelance Illustrator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Inventory Manager for a Music Publisher Engagement Date: September 1, 2004 Wedding Date: October, 2008 Blogging Since: May 6, 2008 Venue: Pennsylvania Museum of Archaelogy and Anthropology About Me: I enjoy people watching (especially in New Jersey malls), obsessive collecting, drooling over contemporary art, browsing flea markets for vintage finds and eating an absurd amount of cheese. In my Philadelphia abode, I create mixed media artwork and one-of-a-kind home accessories in the company of my farmer-tanned husband, our Westiepoo (Betty White), our three rabbits (Cadbury, Willie Nelson and Applesauce) and our two frisky chinchillas (Ethel Funk and Maude).
About candycorn

After much procrastinating, I wrapped up our bird table numbers project last week! One short Bridezillas marathon was all it took for me to finish up the last four birdies (a super sweet Mr. CC ordered the WE channel for me after I mentioned my not-so-secret addiction!).

Long-tailed Tit (best bird name evah)

Rock Wren

Red-billed Leiothrix

Ruby-throated Hummingbird. You may recall I mentioned I was going to redo the original tribute to Mrs. Hum since it was an evil-looking birdie!

I thought I’d include the others so you can see all of the table number cards together:

Hawk Owl

Superb Fruit Dove

Ringed Plover

Crested Pigeon (this one is my least favorite, so if we end up with 10 tables instead of 11, he’ll be the first to go!)

Barred Fruiteater

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher

Short-tailed Pygmy-tyrant

How the table numbers will look when guests first walk in.

The opposite side of the table numbers.

This was definitely my favorite DIY project to work on because I feel like it was just the right personal touch for our guests.

What DIY project have you enjoyed doing most?

I loved doing table numbers too. My fiance designed and printed the numbers on green card stock, and I sewed them together with a brown zig-zag stitch. They turned out so cute!

These are fantastic. I’m sure I’ll be called a short tailed pygmy tyrant at some point during this wedding planning process, so I’m partial to that one.
