I thought I had my something blue all figured out. I bought a cute pair of undies from Victoria’s Secret that seemed to fit my criteria; they were blue, had cute little bows, were sort of sheer but not too crazy, seemed comfortable, etc.
I bought these panties the day I decided on my dress (more on this later!). I was so excited that I had taken care of this major thing (as a girl obsessed with cute underwear!) so soon in the game. I brought them home, hid them in a special place, and basked in my accomplishment.
Here they are in another color:

A week later, I pulled them out from their hiding place to show my maid of honor. I was describing all of the wonderful things about these lovely knickers, when I realized that I had forgotten to check one of the most important things… the undies were 100% NYLON.
Oh the horror!
I am almost exclusively a cotton/silk girl. Exclusively meaning, if I have to wear it longer than two hours, it better be a natural material. I can handle 3% or less of spandex, and I can handle rayon and modal (although these are considered synthetic materials, they are cellulosic, which gives them the same breathable qualities of cotton and silk). I can’t believe I didn’t realize they were nylon! They came from the Angels collection, which has the most adorable cotton briefs and thongs. I am so used to buying that brand, I just assumed they were cotton!
It took me a minute to get over this, as I was already attached to my wedding day undies. Luckily, Urban Outfitters came to the rescue (I have been really into their lingerie section recently)!
A few weeks ago, I was shopping with Mr. Taffy and found these:

They have cute little birds in nests all over them! It’s a subtle way to sneak in my bird shout-out, and the little blue bow is super cute. The back is gathered a little up the back seam, which a fun vintage touch that I love:

I am not really a thong girl for all-day events, so I am sure that I want to wear some sort of brief. And best of all, they are 100% cotton! Not even a trace of spandex.
I’m not completely sure that these will make the cut, mostly because Mr. Taffy has already seen them. They are definitely in the race, though. There is a cute matching bra that was tempting, but it does not go with my dress in any way whatsoever. It might be good for the honeymoon. We haven’t even decided where we will be going, and I have already imagined the fully packed intimate apparel section of my luggage!
*If synthetic fabrics don’t bother you, the original undies I bought are really adorable and vintage looking, and they come in a variety of vintage inspired colors.
