Presents… and More Presents

September 24th, 2008 @ 3:26 pm by Mrs. Hydrangea

But this time, the presents aren’t for us! The presents are for my girls—the four special ladies that will stand by my side on Saturday.

Before I go any further, I have to tell the girls not to read any further…

And I mean it…

Bridesmaids, stay away!

Each girl gets a black robe with their initials, to wear while we get our hair and makeup done. I also got one for myself with my new initials, but it’s white with black embroidery.

They each get a huge white, ruffled bag that they can use for laundry, dry cleaning, or to stuff a bunch of stuff in them for whatever need they might have.

Inside these cute damask boxes that I found at Hobby Lobby is a necklace that I made. They are all sterling silver with black and/or white pearls and Swarovski crystals.

Each lovely lady gets some comfort for her feet. Mom H didn’t want any of these, so I put in her bag a framed 5″x7″ picture that my photographer took of us when I had my bridal portraits, instead. :)

Since the bags that I got them were just too big to put the rest of the gifts in, I took extra OOT bags and stuffed them with their gifts. :)

All four lined up and ready to go!

Did you get your bridesmaids an array of gifts, or just one larger gift?

I got mine each a different necklace suited for their own personalities from etsy.com. This took a couple months of scouring to find ones that were perfect for them, but each of them loved their necklace so it all paid off. I also got them a little “survival kit” that was inside a small clutch that my mom and I made, again, each fabric was different to suit their styles. The survival kit had small sizes of deoderant, bandaids, gum, nail file, etc. Plus I got each a shawl in case it was chilly, but they never actually had to use them.

Great gifts! I went the array route as well…. silver compact mirror with an etched scroll design from Red Envelope, Foot Petals heavenly heelz, pashminas, a Fringe Studio small glass tray and Product Body scrub & lotion. Plus for the MOH the Tiffany cupcake charm. Looking back one large gift (it was going to be a legit cashmere wrap) would have been easier to keep to a budget, but considering all I am asking of them it is all worth it :)

I got them an array of gufts. Maybe its just me but I think opening up a gift full of lots of smaller gifts is so much more fun.

I got mine different threadless t-shirts, different colored miss swiss army knives ( they have sewing kits for goodness sakes!), and knee length waffled robes. I thought it was a good combination of girly and fix-it. I don’t wear jewelry so I didn’t think picking it out for 4 girls was a good idea.

Love the gifts :) I’m getting my girls an array of gifts… an initial key chain, foot petals insoles and shoe grips, MAC make-up (along with the consult for the big day), a pashmina and a tote bag. I’m still on the look out for the latter two.

@Future Mrs. Keeney: I actually had them screen printed by Mr. H’s padrinos (they were nice and did it for free). Keep your eyes out for the post on in in a few days. Most of my posts that are going now are scheduled :) I’ll be MIA for the next couple of weeks since our big day is Saturday :)
