Pt. I: Make Me Pretty!
Pt. II: Time to Get Bridal!
Pt. III: On the Other Side

Seeing Mr. D for the first time was a moment that will always stay with me. It was the first of many moments that day that everything felt just too perfect, too wonderful, yet so real… and so completely right.
I have to admit, for the longest time, I was set on having our first sight of each other to be down the aisle. I couldn’t wait to see the priceless look on Mr. D’s face when he first saw me. But due to logistics, we decided to see each other before the ceremony. Given the timing of our ceremony and reception, the heavy LA traffic, and the size of our family, it was the only way we’d have enough time to take any formal portraits. Plus, after reading about other bees’ experiences, we were fairly convinced that our first look would still be a priceless precious moment.
And a priceless moment it truly was
. It was one that was shared with our family, wedding party, and a few other close friends who were already at the church. So happy! And I don’t think it took much away from the ceremony, if at all. Can I walk you through?
One final mirror check in the bride’s room…

And it’s go time! I head over to the main entrance area of the church, where everyone is waiting. There, I see the guys, the girls, and my mom and dad. And across the lobby by the big church doors, Mr. D awaits. This is the moment!

Now, I have to be honest - That smile is, yes, because I am so incredibly happy and excited to see Mr. D waiting for me… but also partly because I was trying to stop myself from bursting out laughing! I thought Mr. D looked like he was peeing by the door and desecrating the church!

Ahem, excuse my momentary immaturity. Anyway, I quickly regain my composure and walk over
. And here comes the moment! I tap him on the shoulder…

and Mr. D turns around…
The photo below, taken by our cousin, is one of my favorite photos from our wedding day! I love love love the look on Mr. D’s face
.

He doesn’t say anything for a moment, takes my hands, and as his eyes begin to water slightly, in an almost awestruck voice, he says, “Wowww…You look beautiful, honey…”

“…Finally…we’re getting married…”

And then, we just hold one another for a bit. Everyone was there, but in that moment, it was just the two of us. That was the moment when I really knew, 100%, even after all of the completely utterly stressful craziness of the past several months, it really was going to be worth it. That Mr. D loved me so much and I loved him. That no matter how the rest of the day turned out, everything was already perfect. That in the end, it is about me and Mr. D making our commitment and becoming one. While I will never know what it’s like to see Mr. D the very first time as I’m walking down the aisle, I don’t think I would trade away this moment. ![]()
Anyhoo, after a big hug, kiss, and an exchange of a few personal words, we finally came back down to earth! Time for some fun portraits!

We took a few against the double doors, and in other spots in the beautiful church!

You may have seen some of these back when I posted up our initial teaser photos… it was during this time that we took these pictures!

Mr. D with all the ladies…oh yeah…

And the group photos! Ah yes, the classic silly wedding party picture…

And of course, formal shots with the family!
Our immediate family…Mr. D’s grandparents are so cute!

See, I told you we had a big family! And this is only the half that could make it to the wedding!

And believe it or not, the minutes have dwindled away and the guests have already started to arrive. It’s back to the dressing room now.
Next up, the final countdown…
