Please Freshen Up!

September 25th, 2008 @ 1:40 pm by Mrs. Hydrangea

I decided to put together some simple bathroom baskets for our guests at the reception. Using the boxes that I found at Hobby Lobby, we stuffed them with items that I found at my local Dollar Tree.

I started off by filling the bottom of the baskets with white tissue paper to help with the height. Then, I placed some of the black, crumpled paper in to hide the bright white paper.

For the girls:tampons, hairbrush, hair ties, Tylenol, Tums, nail file, bandages, deodorant, lotion, hand sanitizer, hairspray, flossers, Gum, tweezers, nail clippers, bleach pen

For the boys:

hairspray, hairbrush, bandages, flossers, deodorant, gum, Tums, Tylenol, nail file, nail clipper, tweezers, lint roller, hand sanitizer, combs, “manly” lotion

I forgot to take a picture, but I also made two signs, similar to our food station signs, that say “For the Guest of Mr. and Mrs. Hydrangea”. We had leftover table number stands, so I placed them in those to be put next to the baskets.

Where did you all find the best deals on goodies to put in your bathroom baskets?

Ohhh, I found tons of great stuff at Target in the travel size aisle. Most of it was under $1!

I have worked “wedding season” at a five star hotel for the past two years and I can tell you… although these baskets are SO sweet, they usually end up in the office of the special events managers post-wedding as we chomp through it! And when they are utilized, guests typically take entire packs of gum, the whole container of antacids, etc.

This being said, I’m still doing these for our wedding. It’s more the gesture I guess! :)

Super cute idea! I’ll definitely have to “borrow” that idea for our venue — it’s a vineyard with the tiniest restroom (yes, there’s only one!) you’ve ever seen! I’ll throw in some rolls of TP; I can see it now…tons of guests drinking wine all night with no toilet paper left. :)

Nice to see a DFW bride representing. I’ll be reading!
