DIY Guest Bloggers!

September 26th, 2008 @ 6:39 pm by Mrs. Bee

Someone recently asked me what happened to the DIY projects on Weddingbee (we actually posted three little ones today ;) ).  But these kind of things ebb and flow, and countless hours of work need to be completed before a Bee can write a DIY post.

So to spice up the diy quotient on Weddingbee a bit, we decided to launch a new guest blog feature dedicated solely to DIY projects!

First things first — we need a new icon, so please comment below with your suggestions.  And if you have a DIY guest blog you’d like to submit or nominate, please email us at guest at weddingbee.com - we can’t wait to see them!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone! :)

How about scissors about to snip a length of ribbon.

@rzblna: Um, wow. I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Weird. The ribbon should be satiny and comming off a big spool. That’s my origional comment.

I like the ribbon suggestion or maybe a glue gun or a paper cutter slicing paper.
Either way I’m excited :)

How about a Gocco icon? Just Kidding. I like the scissors idea, surrounded by a glue stick and some paper.

I think if it were to really represent my DIY projects it would be of a frizzy haired girl wiping her sweaty brow and coverd in bits of glue and paper scraps. A smoking gocco or something would really complete the look. Or you could just do a ribbon cutting paper.

Maybe you can jump on the “cute bugs” theme and include a ladybug cutting out a heart. Love the scissors idea and the hammer idea too!

I like the scissors cutting ribbon, or the cutting thread that was stitched to say “DIY”.

I’m super excited about this feature!

I think scissors are it… its pretty much what everyone suggested.

If not with ribbon, it could be paper with a trimmed edged (you know either wavy or with another scissor pattern we use for scrapbooking)

I lovethe scissors…although I will admit in all of my MANY MANY MANY DIY projects, I actually rarely used the scissor. Hmmmm…

The ’smoking Gocco’ made me giggle :)

How about a picture of a girl (or 2 for diversity possibilities) with craft stuff coming out of her ears, maybe using a gocco, or with sewing needle in mouth as she’s stitching something, or deep in thought sketching a monogram, etc.
