Gettin’ Trashed—Wanna Join Me?

September 26th, 2008 @ 1:25 pm by Mrs. Meatball

Update:  The Chris Austin TTD bash is fully booked and no longer in need of models.

I found out that the illustrious and talented Chris Austin (aka TTD guru of SoCal) is organizing a Trash-the-Dress Bash in late October! Lo and behold, he is still seeking models and photographers… its on and poppin’ for me and my man! And it could be for you, too…

If you’re a photographer with an itch to build a TTD portfolio, or a bride-to-be with a dress to trash, here are the details:

Sunday, October 26
March Air Force Base Museum
4-7PM shooting time
$75 per photographer (limit 15)
No fee for models

Chris says: “We will be shooting at the March AFB museum, with full access to all the old planes, both military and civilian. Should make for a really cool set. We have the place from 4PM-7PM, however we’ll have the brides and makeup artists arrive about 2:30PM to do makeup in the parking lot. We’ll have three hours to shoot (the museum closes at 4 so we have the place to ourselves). If you are interested, please send me your contact info through this contact page. Also include your address and cell phone number… Start thinking of costumes and props too… Think the movie “Catch Me if you Can” and Top Gun. Old travel trunks and suitcases, flight jackets, cool pilot sunglasses, etc.”

Awwwwww yeah. I cannot WAIT.

Who’s been trashed before, and who plans to get trashed? What’s your setting of choice for your TTD?

I’ve been trashed! Twice!!! Once during a Scott Robert workshop and again the day after my wedding. Trust me ladies, totally worth it.

Dumpling~ find a thift shop near you, they always have wedding dresses… though they may be outdatted…you might get lucky! You can always buy a cheap dress off ebay!

@ Mrs. Cherry Pie: Check with your photographer or others in the area. I’m from Pittsburgh and I know of a few photographers in this area who do TTD sessions!

@ Dumpling: I don’t have a dress either! I’ve been scouring thrift shops and I know something will turn up. You should come!

@Lovebird: Your beautiful pics are partly what inspired my obsession with TTD shoots!

@ Seabreeze: Yup, I get them and can’t wait to share them!

@ Lindsay: yeah, stupid weddings get in the way of everything right? :P

@Starlit: good luck, hope to meet you soon!

Oh, I haven’t cleaned my dress because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend more money on a photographer for a TTD session. This would be perfect!!! Thank you so much for the info!

Not only have I done it before, that ME in the picture you just posted! Chris Austin is amazing and the TTD shoot at the Salton Sea was such a wonderful experience. There were 30+ photographers there that day and I’ve received HUNDREDS of amazing pics from that day. I hope to be there in October if Chris will have me back!
