DIY Icon - Please Vote!

September 29th, 2008 @ 1:35 pm by Mrs. Bee

The overwhelming favorite choice for our new DIY guest blog icon was a pair of scissors cutting ribbon off a spool. Irene made two versions for us:

Blue, totally! It’s refreshing not to have a pink automatically associated with stuff wedding related.

Pink is too expected. Not every bride loves pink. I say a!

I like the blue ribbon design but with pink ribbon instead.
I guess having the scissors on top of the ribbon is a bit awkward. ;) Love it though!!!

No more pink. Surfeit of pink. Blue is good.

I like how the style B points the eye down towards the text of the post. A points up an away from where the post header would be. I do prefer the blue color though because it corresponds with “something blue.”

I like the pink ribbon design, but the blue ribbon color better. Not everything girly has to be pink. :)

Mrs. Bee, this is totally off topic, but I couldn’t figure out a more direct way of asking you my question. Is there an easy way to email a post to someone? There are some sites (MSN is one that comes to mind) that contain a feature at the end of each post that allows one to click on an email icon which pops up a window allowing you to email a link to that story. Some of them (like Paper Source) even does this internally where you type in your name & email address, recipient email address and viola they get an email saying “Loralie thinks you should check this out” or something to that effect.
If weddingbee has a similar feature, I’m totally missing it but would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. If not, I think it would be a great addition to the site, provided it didn’t cause any weird server problems like the old feature “read more right here” did.
