S-Tease-Ds

Psssst…. Over here! SShhhhhh! Come closer. No, act casual. Listen! You want a sneak peek in on our Save the Dates? You’ve been so patient, I feel you deserve a little tease.

Actually, I’m just so freakin’ excited I can’t contain it anymore! Behold, our Save The Date envelope—complete with the bad ass wraparound label the gals at Elizabeth Anne Designs* created for us, and the gloriously adorable “love: all heart” stamps. The actual STDs will arrive today, according to FedEx… but we wanted to be ready for them. Now we can just stuff, and send them off!

What do you think?

Isn’t the label divine?!? Way to go Ami & Bekah!

We used Paper & More’s Jupiter Red A7 envelopes, which are pearlescent. They have just the right amount of shimmer, without being “glittery”. They feel nice to the touch (don’t snicker, I’m a tactile gal), and are a really nice stock weight. I highly recommend Paper & More.

Our postal carrier screwed up the delivery. I called the company to verify my address was correct on the order, and they sent out a fresh delivery immediately, and upgraded my shipping to priority, just because they’re that nice.

Now, seriously, I never thought I’d care what stamps we used. To me, it always sounded like the mark of a compulsive bride. I didn’t think I was that bride. But after we saw how gorgeous those labels came out, and how pretty the envelopes looked, it would feel disrespectful to use the correct postage for this letter weight:

no offense, Trudeau

Yes, I have now fully embraced my compulsion… How about you?

Have you gotten carried away on the little details?

*Yep, the same EAD who made Miss Avocado’s unique and beautiful invitations!

I had never heard of making invitations for your bridal party. the only time i was asked to be in a bridal party, it was over the phone… I’m now obsessed with mine. I spent all weekend and I still have about 3 hours or more to put in.

Um, I just found out that fedex has lost track of the box with all my save-the-dates in it somewhere between Chicago and LA. Please let them find it soon! I’m freaking out!

I just went to the post office to mail out my save the dates. They are in a square envelope which = 62 cent postage. Unfortunately our post office was out of the dragonfly 62 cent stamps and so I got 59 cent James Michner and 3 cent star stamps. I was NOT happy that my cute little cards did not have cute little stamps!!! I’ve learned my lesson now and will order the 62 cent ones online to ensure my RSVP cards get the good ones.

[...] Rebekah suggested drawing on the idea of a word cloud for the insert. We brainstormed words that we feel sum up the day for us, and Mr. Meatball suggested that “Join us on the ride of our lives” was a great way to hint at the theme again. We love the way it turned out, and the lotus-y image in the background is just divine! (You may recognize it from our envelope labels!) [...]
