Hello! I have been busy catching up at home (nesting) and at work after the wedding craziness, but I wanted to stop by and say HAPPY HALLOWEEN to the hive! Mr. Pomegranate and I carved pumpkins last night (using some patterns we downloaded here), so we’re pretty much ready to spook the kidlets in the neighborhood and pass out candy.
Earlier this week, Mr. Coconut and I trekked down to the clerk’s office for our marriage license! The process was easy and painless, but also a little nerve wracking! (In a good way though!) I had to take a picture on my Crackberry!

I’ll be busy from here on out with last minute errands and hosting family and friends, so this will likely be my last post as a Miss.

I’m still waiting for professional pictures but we just got our photobooth pictures back and they are so much fun I had to share. We used Cheesy Photobooths based out of the LA/Orange County area. They were so easy to work with and I love what they had to offer. The gave us unlimited double prints for the event up to 4 hours, digital CD of all the photos, on-site attendant, free setup/breakdown in the LA area, a custom digital banner and a scrapbook and supplies. They also had this bonus where they were giving us 2 extra hours of service free of charge. They also offer a and a 12′ screen free of charge (for the first client to book) that date. Not to mention that all the booths have a digital display screen on the outside so people waiting can see the pictures as they are taken.
Our guests loved thephotobooth and we got some absolutely hilarious pictures to prove it. The only thing I would change would be to put it in a more prominent location since some of our guests didn’t even know the photobooth was there. Also, make sure you tell your family and bridal party to get their turn in the photobooth. My family and most of our groomsmen/bridesmaids didn’t find the time to make it over and take some pictures.

We purchased our wedding bands one night after we leisurely went inside a local jewelry store just to look. I was actually surprised by how easy it was for us both to make a decision and pick out our rings. Mr. Deviled Egg found one that fit him perfectly–not too fancy, but classic. I found one that worked with with the setting of my engagement ring, and added a little bit of bling to the overall look.
Here’s what we chose:

His is titanium and mine is white gold with a half eternity setting.

Yes, that seems to be the question for many brides. Personally I never really thought about it until I saw this:
My favorite celebrity bride of all time and my dress’ namesake, Mrs. Jackie O
OMFG! Can you imagine the incredible photo ops one could create with a veil like this?! I did a little “research” and found that you too can sport a similar reproduction of this baby for the bargain price of…$765!!

Um, hi. Remember how helpful you were when I couldn’t decide on a dress? And remember how you gave me suggestions on what to do with our garden trail? And there was that time that you came up with a brilliant solution for my name conundrum? See? We’re friends, all y’all (I’ve been told that “all y’all” is the plural form of “y’all”) and I. Good friends. Close friends. The kind of friends that talk about boobs. In fact, I’ve mentioned my boobage no fewer than four times so far, so we’re practically bff’s.
{If you’re sensing I’m buttering you up, you’re totally right.}

I’m finally “officially” back, and I’ve missed you all so much. I was hoping to start recapping sooner- but Mr. E and I just moved into a bungalow from 1916 and the wiring was a bit more complex than we anticipated. But enough with that- let’s get to the good stuff!
Marrying Mr. Espresso under the tall pines is still something I think back on everyday. I remember looking at him at our reception thinking: I can’t believe he’s my husband. I can’t believe this is our wedding happening all around us… I’m so happy.

In honor of Halloween today, I bring you a post about costumes.
Mr. Fondue’s first suggestion for the wedding was to have a Star Wars theme. You may remember that his only table name idea was of Star Wars planets. The boy is a wee bit obsessed (although, he will have me note that he wants nothing to do with Episodes I through III). So, of course, he thought it was the best idea ever for him to dress up as Darth Vader, have his best men as Stormtroopers, with me walking down the aisle as Padmé. And, being a cosplayer, I would be making the costumes.
Now for a bit of history. For Halloween of 2004, I decided that I wanted to dress up as Aeris (or Aerith) Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII. I started doing research online and discovered a community of people, or cosplayers, who regularly dress up as characters to go to anime and fantasy conventions. This intrigued me and a new hobby was born. My grandmother gave me one of her old sewing machines and I quickly set to work learning how to sew, in order to make costumes.

When Mr. Pineapple and I first chose our venue with the fancy schmancy food we were living rent-free. As part of Mr. Pineapple’s job at the time (he is now working at a different University) he was required to live in on-campus housing. Our housing was amazing. We lived in a four bedroom, 3000 square foot split level, rent and utility-free. So all the money that we had been paying for two separate apartments we could put toward our wedding savings. Then the poo hit the fan. The big wig above Mr. P was asked to resign and to save money Mr. P’s job description no longer required him to live on-campus. They gave us six weeks to be out. Since we had already put our deposit down on the Rivers Club we wanted to try and make it work. We did this by eliminating anything we didn’t “need” or care about. The second way was by doing a lot of searching before buying. Here are some of the resources I found along the way that helped me penny pinch.

Let’s journey back 7 years and take a look inside the mind of 16 year old Miss Avo. A girl who loves to sing and dance, who has already become slightly wedding obsessed. We won’t be using a time machine for this journey, instead we’ll be using a time capsule!
I’ve mentioned before how important temple marriage is in the LDS faith, and as teenage girl I participated in many youth group activities learning about temple marriage. The best activity I attended involved filling up canning jars with wedding themed items, and sealing them ourselves using a canning trailer. I was so excited to move home after getting engaged, break out the can opener, and see what had been waiting inside for 7 years.
What is Mrs. Tiramisu up to now that she’s not consumed by wedding planning?
She’s back to her old ways of pretending her dog is a small child:
Hi ladies, what would you do in this situation?
I sent an e-mail to a bunch of friends to get their mailing addresses, since I know a bunch of them have moved recently. Everybody responded except for one person. About a month after the original e-mail, I sent a reminder e-mail to the person who did not respond. A couple weeks later, still no response. She and I don’t live in the same region of the country, so it’s not like we will run into each other between now and the wedding. Also, I kind of just invited her because she is part of a big group of college friends and I didn’t want to leave one person out. I like her a lot and we see each other when the whole friend group gets together yearly, but we never do anything just the two of us, and we never chat on the phone to catch up. I was thinking of just not sending an invitation if she does not respond with her address… or do I contact her again? Or try to get her address from another friend? Part of me feels that if she can’t even take the time to send me her address she is probably not super interested in attending my wedding…

It is a very sad day indeed.
On Saturday, Brother Eggplant gave me a Riso Print Gocco PG-11 as a surprise gift for designing his wedding stationery. I was so excited to start printing! I promptly began Googling all articles Gocco related, until I came across a letter posted on Flickr from an a representative of NEHOC, an Australian Riso distributer:
