About Mrs. Meatball

S-T-Depression

October 1st, 2008 @ 11:54 am by Mrs. Meatball

FedEx confirmed yesterday morning that they have lost the package containing our Save-the-Dates. It was supposed to board a truck in Champaign, IL and somehow, it never made it.

We have to wait until a week from tomorrow before we can file a claim, and I’m trying to stay positive, but it’s so hard. They are so unique, and were completely handmade and labor intensive… even the paper was dyed by hand. Poor Rebekah and Ami at Elizabeth Anne Designs poured so much hard work into them, and now they’re just floating around out there… who knows where.

It’s our first major hiccup in what has been an otherwise smooth and fortunate planning process. But that doesn’t make it any easier. We’ve been so excited to send these out—to make everything “official”. Plus, with half our guests being out-of-towners and our wedding being on a holiday weekend, it’s important to get the word spread so people can make their arrangements.

I’m sure we’ll come up with a great Plan B, if the original box isn’t recovered by next week. It’s just hard not to feel a sense of loss, y’know?

awww, I hope they find them! I was really bummed yesterday, b/c we got our cake stand in the mail–BROKEN. I need to figure out if it was insured, etc., but it was so sad to see it…plus, it didn’t help that it was wedged in my mailbox…I literally had to try multiple times to pry it out only to find a shard already falling out of the box. :(

Oh doll!! I totally feel your pain!!
While I didn’t loose my whole order, the envelopes we ordered from envelopemall.com came in the other day and were awful!! It looked like glue had been spilled all over them, and the company gave the worst time about returning them (I’m still not getting a full refund :(..)
We have also had a pretty smooth planning time so far, so these tiny little envelopes sent me into a complete panic. I am trying to stay postitive, and remember that things happen for a reason. Hopefully my new envelopes, and your new STDs will be even better then the originals!!
Sending lots of love and good STD wishes your way!!

When I read your entry, my heart just went out to you. All that time and effort that was put into those STDs. If your package was sent FedEx Ground, I may be able to help. I work at the corporate headquarters for ground. If you send me your tracking id, I can do a little research and hopefully help you out. Depending on who you talked to, I may be able to access more info on your package then they can. If you were shipping FedEx Express, unfortunately that is really out of my realm. Send me an email at katherine.welsh@fedex.com

That’s such a bummer! I’m sorry. I just have to share, though, that I’m a nurse, and when I saw this post, my first thought was that someone in your clan was having health problems– s-t depression is something you can see on an EKG! So, at least you have your health?

I am so over Fed Ex. They lost one of our wedding gifts and pretty much said too bad, so sad. Absolutely no recourse. Luckily Crate & Barrel was much easier to work with and replaced the item for free!

Fed Ex lost the book I made of my boudoir pictures. Thanks God I didn’t do explicit ones! :)

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you. I completely empathize: DHL lost my wedding dress and couldn’t figure out where it was for days. Miraculously, over a week after it was supposed to arrive, it just showed up at my door. Kismet. I have a feeling that the same thing will happen with your invites.

Oh no! I really hope they find your package — it has to be somewhere, right? My fingers are totally crossed. :)

Argh! But really sweet that the commenter Katie above offered to do a little homework for you. Let us know if that turns up any leads!

i don’t know if you know this, but you inadvertently were extra creative with your title because in medical terminology — ST depression is a sign on an EKG (electrocardiogram — paper tracing of a person’s heart rhythm) of the heart not getting enough oxygen (ischemia)…kind of like the prelude to a heart attack. sort of appropriate for what happened! heehee. anyways, thought you may like to know :)
