Inspired by Martha (Again) : wedding decor diy san antonio Martha

Oh, Martha!

I love Martha and could spend countless hours clicking through her site. I recently came across the banner above and fell in love with it. I wanted to incorporate it into the wedding somewhere, but it just wasn’t working. If it wouldn’t work for the main event, what about at the Welcome Dinner? Yes, with some minor tweaking, this little banner could work out quite nicely for the wedding’s eve.

 My interpretation

The banner was SUPER easy to make!! All I needed was bright cardstock, white index cards, some ribbon, my handy dandy corner rounder, and a decorative paper punch.

I also downloaded a fun and decorative free font to make the letters a little more “festive”. I then printed the letters on the index cards using my trusty home printer.

Then, I cut the cardstock down to size and punched the top and bottom with the decorative punch.

Then I attached the letters to the cardstock backing with double sided tape, cut some slits for the ribbon, and threaded the ribbon through. Eso es todo!

I ripped out that page from Martha too! I like the “Just Married” banner and want to string it across the doorway for our grand entrance to the reception, and hopefully get some cute pictures under it.
Your banner is so festive; I love it!

That is the cutest paper punch ever!

I love how the sign came out too! I have so many DIY ideas for my wedding, I’m afriad I won’t be able to get it all done too…I’m sure I’ll be squeezing some things in too :)

I was so inspired by your moss letters that I decided to try to tackle them about 4 weeks out from my wedding. Time, however, was not my friend, and they hit the cutting room floor. It’s okay though, I cut the letters (our last name initial) to about 15″, and now I’m going to make one to hang on our front door, and the other to give away as a gift to my grandmother (same last name initial).

Your banner looks great!

@Miss Ballet Flat: Aww, thanks! I’d love to see how your letters turned out!
@wintersprincess: Suprisingly enough it’s part of Martha’s line at WalMart!

Are you my long lost sister? I was planning a similar project using the same edge punch from Martha. The colors are fuchsia, orange, turquoise, and lemon - very similar. Love the font choice.
