Hey guys,

I do plan to respond to your comments in yesterday’s big announcement, but I’ve been sick and as you can imagine, it’s been a little crazy. I want to be able to take everything in before I respond in a bit, so thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, I thought I’d share a little bit of fun news with you. In addition to the new DIY guest blog feature, we’ve also been working on another new feature called “Bee Spotlight”. In this feature, we’ll write a summary about a past bee, link to their wiki, post some wedding pictures, as well as write an update on what they’re up to now. Miss Avocado suggested that I feature myself first, so I’ll be sprucing my wiki up and scanning in some wedding pictures (yep we had a film photographer!) over the weekend. Mrs. Ladybug, who was our first official Bee, is working on her Bee Spotlight right now. We hope this is a great way for you to get to know some of the older bees who are no longer actively blogging on the site.

Here’s the adorable little icon Irene created for us. Do you have a preference?

And as I mentioned previously, we’re also working on a “pro” version of Weddingbee, where we feature the best posts by wedding photographers, bakers, florists, planners, and more.

This is what we came up with for the icons — the vendor’s polaroid style profile picture, along with a character indicating what type of vendor they are. Pictured below is florist, photographer, baker, wedding planner, and stationery designer created by Irene. Please let us know what you think, and which cake and stationery icon is your favorite.

We hope that you’re as excited for these features as we are!

1st bee, yellow cake, envelop c. is the bouquet suppose to be the one from the wb bride? it kinda loses clarity of the object when shrunk so small, at least in comparison to the others.

I totally think you should try to feature Mrs. Hibiscus…she’s the bee that made me fall in love with your site (because she was the first post I saw and I continued following her after that) and I am super super sad that she no longer posts.

I like the toothy bee- bee#1.
I don’t know about the other lil icons- they might take away from the bee… Perhaps depending on the entry- you can allow the bee who is posting to choose the checklist, camera, the cake or the invites. This way the bee icon depicts what entry we will be viewing. Or maybe that is too complicated?
Hand in there Mrs. Bee… I think the shock of the change will slowly sink in with readers to add more clarity to their feelings. So take your time with your response… ll**Hugs**ll

@Mrs. Bee: For the bouquet icon, maybe you can set the JPG compression to be higher so not so much detail is lost? If it is still not legible, It can use some tweaks so the detail comes out more and not just a big red ball. I *think* that should work.

I was also going to say the feature bee icons look blurry - maybe it can use a higher JPG compression too.
