But it won’t be a costume! 
My friends are getting married on Halloween, and they have asked me to be a bridesmaid! I’m super excited, because I love Halloween and have never been to a “haunted wedding”. Oh yes, the wedding itself will take place in a haunted house, and they will be married by “Wolfman Mac”, host of Nightmare Sinema, a Detroit local access show that plays classic horror movies, along with spooky skits. Image SourceI’m so excited! My friends have been talking about going to the courthouse to be married for some time now. They didn’t want to have a big traditional wedding, and their parents were very supportive of that and encouraged them to do something less traditional and involved. When my friends saw the ad for the Halloween wedding running on Nightmare Sinema, they called Wolfman Mac and sealed the deal! Some couples will be getting married, and some will be renewing their vows.
I haven’t picked a dress yet, but I have tons of crazy vintage dresses at my mom’s (thanks for the storage, mom!), so expect a poll soon. I would love your help choosing the best spooky bridesmaids dress! I have a super cute sweater that I bought for my engagement pictures that would be great to wear over any of the dress choices, and should help me stay warm. Mr. Taffy bought a suit at the thrift store this weekend that we can “zombify” for the ceremony. I think he will make a cute zombie date.
Also, I’ll be making a fabulous birdcage veil for the bride, so expect a tutorial before Halloween!

aww, i’m going to be a bridesmaid in our friend’s halloween wedding this year too! i’m so stoked for all of the halloweeny goodness!! the bridal party has even learned the thriller dance and will surprise them at the reception by busting out our zombie dance moves. mr. cc is going to be michael jackson…i found him the perfect red faux leather jacket hahaha.
I would have been totally up for a halloween wedding, but I don’t think FI would have. Either way, it’s gonna be awesome! Only 11 more days!

@Miss Candy Corn: That’s awesome!!! I had to lead a Thriller dance at a wedding two years ago, the night before I was watching the video on you tube over and over. That’s so fun that it will be a surprise!
I so want to go to a fun themed wedding!! And I thought about having ours be one… I got the “you are out of your mind” look from both fiance and mother. Oh well. I hope one of my friends throws one soon. In the mean time, make sure to post pictures!!!!
@Starry-Eyed Barefoot Bride: Oh yes, I will! And I’ll try to get a poll up soon about which vintage dress to wear. Mr. Taffy went to a “super hero” wedding in Las Vegas… he had to make up his own super hero character and the costume, and run around in it all night! I had a wedding in Chicago that weekend, so I missed out. I would have loved to see it in action!

A Halloween themed wedding sounds like a lot of fun, what a great couple I can’t wait to help vote on all the dress choices.
I am so, so jealous. Please take lots of pictures for us! A haunted Halloween wedding would be number three on my list of dream weddings (other than my own!)
I am getting married on 10/31 this year, but have not been to a Halloween wedding before. We are trying to be traditional in some senses (i.e. for grandma’s sake because in her eyes it’s bad enough we are getting married on THAT day) but also trying to bring in the spirit of Halloween that we love so much without making it look like a cheap dollar store party.
There have been some challenges but it’s been great having excuses to add more Halloween decor to our lives.
