Pleasant Surprises

October 8th, 2008 @ 2:40 pm by Mrs. Pinot Noir

After a relaxing weekend and super supportive email from my friend J, I made peace with the fact that Mr. PN might not have a kilt and that I can’t control the weather. It seemed like the minute I started to relax, things started to fall into place. First, the weather forecast for Saturday went from rainy back to sunny:

But even better than sun, Mr. PN’s kilt arrived in the mail and it is perfect! He humored me by letting me take a couple pictures to give you all a sneak peek!

I was skeptical at first but I think he looks pretty good! What do you all think?

Wow he is wearing the full outfit, shoes and all! I’m impressed.

My husband will be wearing a kilt too, but probably rental. I’ve seen men in Kilt at a wedding before and I’ve got to say that since that I have no doubt that it’s a beautiful outfit for a man to wear.
You might need to replace the sunglasses with something though :P

So cute! The weather forecast for our wedding - four days prior - called for sunny and 40 degree weather (our wedding was 12/15/2007).

And… it snowed eight inches! We ended up with some amazing pictures though - there’s one of us on the brick porch of the church where the snow is blowing around - it was just magical.

Y’know, traditionally, men go commando under there? What’s Mr. PN’s skivvy situation? :)

Mr. Pinot Noir says:

@Miss Meatball: in that picture? or at the ceremony? The answer is yes and no but not necessarily in that order. ;-)

A have a friend who wore a kilt to prom, who borrowed it from a friend who is a professional bagpipe player. When she lent it to him, she gave him some advice: “Without fail, one person will try to look beneath the kilt. At least wear something interesting.”

Her go-to was smiley face boxers and bike shorts- he ended up making a sign that said “Hello!” that he hung from a belt, along with plaid shorts.

Great weather! Its perfect right now. A little cold and foggy in the morning but it breaks off mid morning and right now at almost 1pm its nice outside. This is my favorite time of the year, wear a jacket out, take it off in the afternoon, put it back on in the evening kind of weather.

I love the HELLO! sign. That’s hysterical.

It may be funny for the bridesmaids to have little mirrors for their shoes and pretend to do what boys try in grade school in a picture!

Kilts look great.

Do you mind me asking where you ordered the kilt from, if you are renting it? I found tons of sites for ordering Kilts online, but I don’t know if they’re reliable.

LOVE it! A friend of mine had a medieval themed wedding and the best man (who is very scottish) wore his family’s (tartan? is that the right word?) When I tell you he was so freaking excited about getting to wear a kilt, I’m not joking. I remember his happiness the day his kilt came in, so I’m sure your (soon to be) husband was relieved when it came in.

Straight up jealous of your weather forecast- I don’t think they even DO 0% where I’m from. YAY for sun!
