Did you catch Project Runway last night?!! The designers’ final challenge was to design a wedding dress and a bridesmaids dress. Holy Heidi hauteness! Don’t worry, Tivoers; I won’t reveal who got auf’d. But how could I resist reviewing the designs?
Let’s go in the order of fug to fabulous:
1. Jerell’s designs. Say you got caught in the wedding aisle at Michaels in the middle of an earthquake. And the glue gun you were going to buy with your 25% off coupon exploded, covering you with adhesive from head to toe. And you had to climb through the rubble in order to reach the safety of the Martha Stewart aisle. This is probably what you’d look like.

Oh, and your maid of honor was there too. Only she got caught in that special clearance aisle where they sell Grey Gardens-inspired tablecloths for fortune tellers.

2. Korto’s designs. This dress screams: “Look, buddy, the salmon for the reception is not going to catch itself.”
Love it? Get yours at Orvis.
Korto’s bridesmaid dress is kind of cute, if not exactly couture.
Love it? Get your flirtier BCBG version on Ebay:
3. Kenley’s designs. Okay, the girl’s got the personality of nails on chalkboard, but she does flippin’ adorable like nobody else.
Love it? Get a real vintage fifties wedding dress at Tastyvintage:
Her bridesmaid dress is tres chic, but the Degas-blue color made me swoon!
Love it? Pair this Danskin leotard from Discount Dance Supply with a flared skirt or the Bonzie bolero below:
4. Leanne’s designs. If Monique Lhuillier and Frank Gehry had a love child that happened to be a talented wedding gown designer, s/he would design something like this:

And the bridesmaid dress is, in a word, heavenly.
Love it? Here’s my rehearsal dinner dress, which is a Badgley Mischka with similar pleating in the skirt:
Love it in theory but not feeling the extra pleating around the buttocks? Get these stunning shoulder wraps from Etsy seller Bonzie, which have a similar ethereal-meets-architectural vibe.

I think I screamed when I saw this challenge last night and then when they threw in the bridesmaid dress…I screamed again! I can’t stand Kenley but I loved her dress the best. I loved Leanne’s bridesmaid dress the best. And I love Project Runway so much. The End 
Man! I’m a Runway regular and last night was the first time in forever that I missed the episode! Loooove the recap and can’t wait to catch the re-run. Excellent challenge! I like Leanne’s the best….

Leanne’s dress was definitely my favorite!! This blog entry was great.

I too was super excited about last night’s challenge(s)! PR is just about my favorite show, um, EVER. I even have my FI watching it with me every Wednesday night. I’m with you on Leanne’s designs, beautiful, simple, elegant, and exciting! Kenley’s wedding and bridesmaids dresses were fun and I loved all the feathers, but I just can’t get over her personality… she annoys me! Great post!! 
I was so excited when they gave this challenge! Kenley’s is so fun, I loved it immediantly when I saw it but I think Leanne did the best overall. Her wedding gown and bridesmaid are both divine!
I loved Kenley’s wedding dress best but I have a slight obsession with tulle. I was describing it to my hubby-to-be over breakfast and he was thrown off immediately by the words, “white feathers”. My wedding dress is a slim-fitting silk dress but I would adore a tea length strapless dress with a tulle shirt for the reception. Also. I would rock Kenley’s BM dress in black at the rehearsal dinner although it might need to be slightly longer.
We spoke too soon. It JUST went back to normal. They must be smack in the middle of making changes….

I watched it and I love Leanne’s bridesmaid dress. I would love to wear it to any occassion. While I would probably not wear any of the bridal gowns, I love Kenley’s the most.
I loved, loved, LOVED Leanne’s wedding and bridesmaid dresses. I hate Kenley but I had to admit hers were pretty cute too … except that her bridesmaid’s dress was so short I was afraid we were going to catch a glimpse of something inappropriate on the runway. Also, Kenley’s wedding dress didn’t have anywhere near the same level of creativity and innovation as Leanne’s.
Korto and Jerell … eh. Good call on Korto’s dress looking like a fishing vest!

Leanne’s BM dress was my favorite.
I absolutely LOVE Leanne! Her dress was hands down the best. I also love how you can see that her inspiration was the water in all her designs.
Kenley gets on my nerves so much and her wedding dress reminded me of Christian’s big finale dress last season with all the feathers. It didn’t seem original to me at all.
I’m glad Korto made it based solely on her collection when she showed Tim.
I love Jerell’s attitude and personality, but his collection just had too much “stuff” on it. Can’t wait for next week, yay!

I loved Kenley’s dress… except when I saw it I instantly had deja vu of the Alexander McQueen and I can’t believe they let her get away with copying something from the Fall ‘08 season! (http://www.style.com/slideshows/fashionshows/F2008RTW/AMCQUEEN/RUNWAY/00340m.jpg)
And with the collections, I’m still fawning over Leanne. Oh the blue and white… ahhh.
I loved Kenley’s dresses! I wasn’t that fond of Leanne’s wedding dress, but her bridesmaid dress was my absolutely favorite.

Jerrell’s designs were horrible!! They looked like he just threw them together without any thought. I don’t know what he was thinking with that wedding dress..
My favorite dress was Kenley’s. It was so so adorable. I liked her BM dress too, I’d totally wear it if it was a little longer. Leann’s BM dress I liked very much too.
I know Kenley is a brat, but I’ve loved everything she’s done minus that dress last week. This wedding dress is fabulous and I would love to wear her BM dress if it were a few inches longer to any pre-wedding festivities. I love that she chose navy. Leanne’s dresses were beautiful too but maybe a little too structural for my tastes even though I know that was half their appeal.
I’m glad there will be another girl winner, it’s just too bad they all have such personality flaws (from my perspective at least.) We get to choose between the spoiled brat, the mouse, or the sad rain cloud from the antidepressant ads.
Lovely, hilarious post (as usual)! How can you not fall madly in love with Leanne’s bridesmaid dress? Kenley gets on my nerves big time, so it would pain me to give her any love.

I absolutely loved Kenley’s dress! I actually find Leanne much more annoying than Kenley, but I love her designs. I almost died when you mentioned Monique and Franky boy having a love child - spot on perfect description of a fabulous dress!

Was that not the best episode of PR ever??? I am obsessed with Leanne. If she isn’t famous after this show, I want her to make my wedding and bridesmaid dresses! I wouldn’t wear the gown she made, but she has such a fresh style and everything is so well crafted (one of my friends wants to wear the BM dress!). I also liked Kenley’s dresses, but Leanne was the hands-down winner to me. Your Jarrell comments were hi-larious, by the way.
