About Mrs. Lemonade

I’ll admit it – I have difficult skin. It’s sensitive, oily, prone to break outs and flakiness. Ugh. I’ll also admit that I’ve spent much more than I should on countless products that promised to make it all better, but never really did. I have tons of half used bottles of lotions, tonics and potions (it almost sounds like I’ve been visiting a snake oil salesman…) that never fulfilled the promise of peaches and cream.

Then I tried this.

Product Review: Dermalogica Daily Microexfoliant : wedding san antonio skincare Dermalo

from my friends at dermalogica

The granules are powder fine so they don’t rip into your skin like other scrubs I’ve tried, and with just a few drops of water it foams up really well! It only took about 3 days of use (1X a day) for me to see a difference. I’ve been using this stuff almost daily for a couple of months and I now feel comfortable enough with my skin that I no longer wear makeup to work during the day, and only apply a quick dusting of powder if I’m headed out for the evening. For me this is HUGE seeing as up until recently I wore a FULL face of makeup every single day, no matter what.

It’s a bit pricier than your drugstore lines, but I’ve found it’s really worth it – especially when factoring in the cash saved on makeup.

Do you have a favorite exfoliant?

Thanks for this! I feel like finding exfoliants is very difficult. I like the Philosophy brand Microdelivery system… but I’m always looking for the next great product!

I love Dermalogica. I’m also obsessed with Bare Minerals blemish therapy and renew & reveal facial cleanser. The blemish therapy is amazing under makeup to keep spots and breakouts under control, and the facewash makes my skin SO smooth. Here’s a link:

for a budget option– mixing a little baking soda with your normal cleanser makes a great gentle exfoliant. i like it with the burt’s bees soap bark cream cleanser.

Dermalogica is incredible! Even my guy loves their men’s line.

I get mine on drugstore.com– great when they have discount coupons– and at pure beauty, where they give you a gift certificate after you’ve spent a certain amount on any store products. Every little bit helps, right?

Miss L, I SWEAR by this stuff!!! If I go a week or so without it, I feel grimy and gross. I don’t know how I ever lived without it! I used to use dermalogica face wash as well, but found it a little to gentle for me (I like to feel really clean, and dont have particularly sensitive skin), but daily microfoliant is something I will never go without!

Another exfoliant I use that’s not a scrub but a creme that you slather on and then rinse off is the Jan Marini Green Papaya enzyme mask. I switch off between the two… I think the Marini mask gives a little “deeper cleaning” than the scrub.

I will def pick some up. I use dermalogica’s skin prep scrub once a week, but this sounds great for more frequent use!

Is there salycylic acid in this product? I’d like to try it but I am pregnant and salyclic acid is a no no for me right now.

I also must chime in… I’m a Dermalogica girl and I love this especially! It really works - yes it’s pricier but it’s really worth it… highly recommend!

Another one here *hand raised*! Love this stuff. I started using it in college and never looked back. I’ve noticed on days when my face is sensitive (ie. lots of sun) then it doesn’t feel so good. But I always turn to it for exfoliating!

Hi

I’ve recently been converted to a Dermalogica fan after completing an online consultation at Body Beauty online as I was unsure of the correct products to purchase. They gave me some great advice and advised the correct products to use. I’m getting my fella a shave kit from them for Christmas!

Its really refreshing to actually find products that actually work!!!!!
