Hey Hive, sorry for the lags in posting… I just started graduate school and life has been nothing short of crazy! But I’m back! And I’ll try to average two posts a week at least for the next couple of weeks or so! ![]()
We left off last time after our formal portraits were done, and it was time to head back to the dressing room. Everyone was starving so we all grabbed a quick snack, while I ran through my vows one last time…
OK fine, so I got a snack too. Seriously though, it is super important to eat any moment you get a chance on your wedding day, because those moments really are rare and you are on your feet the entire day!

Sister Daffodil then gathered all my girls around for a time of prayer. This was such a special and memorable moment for me. My mom, sisters, and two of my bridesmaids all prayed the most beautiful words of love and encouragement on me.

I felt so overwhelmed by excitement and love at that moment, and when one of my bridesmaids who was one of my best friends in college started to pray for me, that was when I started tearing up. If it wasn’t for some life-changing decisions I made in college, Mr. D and I might not be together today. She was there for me through that challenging time and prayed for me back then, and it was just so incredibly special for her to be praying for me now, on my wedding day right before I was going to say my vows to Mr. D. ![]()
The first tears of the day are shed! ![]()

A big round of hugs all around…
Yet another final touch up!

It was all a blur, but soon thereafter, all us girls found ourselves standing out in the lobby of the church, waiting to enter the sanctuary.
I could barely believe it! I was trying to soak it in. Was it really time?
Apparently so, as the guys had already filed in and Mr. D was standing up in front waiting for me!
Sister Daffodil coached our two flower girls, who are the daughters of our officiant
.
(Our ring bearer, their brother—yep, our pastor has triplets!—was crying and never made it down the aisle!)
My girls all walked down the aisle one by one, followed by my two MOHs each with a flower girl. Before I knew it, my last bridesmaid headed down…
…and I suddenly found myself about to enter into the sanctuary. This was it!
Next up: A brief break from the recaps to share some of the details of the day with you all!
