Everyday and Not-So-Everyday Monograms

(source: Creative Montage ~used with permission~)

When I was a young Champlette, I remember our towels had these big letters written on them in a fancy cursive script. I never knew what they stood for, but I always liked the way they looked. Now that I’m all grown up and sophistimicated, I know that our towels were monogrammed. So when I tried to design our monogram for invites, stationary, thank yous and random other projects, I failed miserably. I couldn’t find the right design, but I knew I wanted something between artsy and classic. I’ll post more on my DIY monograms, but the monograms I actually ended up using the most were created by Aimee O’Boyle from Creative Montage. Amy’s work was suggested to me by my pal Mrs. Tiramisu, and her creations are gorgeous!

Our colors are black, ivory, and gold. We’ve been going back and forth on an accent color, and originally we wanted some dark burgundy accents, so Aimee used “wine” as the accessory color for our monograms.

For either $15 (3 monograms) or $20 (5 monograms), you can select any of the monograms shown on her website, and Aimee is wonderful with timing and communication. The files are sent in .jpeg or .pdf form, and both Mrs. Tiramisu and I agree it’s best to get the larger size when ordering. Affordable and quality product design?! Believe it!

Here’s a small sample of her work, but Aimee has so many more choices!

Champ really liked this one, so we chose this as one of our 5 monograms. I was so surprised how much opinion he had on our monogram choices—we pick our battles, don’t we ladies! ;)

Doesn’t this one make you want a beach wedding? So cute! How about this one for a garden or vineyard wedding… so romantic!

I love this for a bright summer theme or a preppy wedding (a la Miss Lemonade?). It would be perfect as a sticker on big lollipops as favors, no?!

Recognize this one? It’s the same one we used on our save the dates.
Here’s the classic monogram, perfect for stationary heading. This is similar to one I tried to create on PowerPoint, but Aimee’s puts mine to shame! Another classic, and perhaps the monogram on my parents’ towels…

This one is might be my fave. I love the elegance of the font and the contrasting colors. It’s kind of similar to the Cupcake wedding colors!

We’re having a winter wedding, and contrary to popular belief, not all winter weddings are holiday related. But isn’t this perfect for a Christmas wedding?

Aimee also creates beautiful save the date and invitation designs. Check out the design of this pocket fold invite. Masquerade ball, anyone?

Don’t you love her work? I’m so glad we had Aimee create our monograms… I’ve already used one of them several times in our save the dates, envelopes, and various DIY projects. I’ll also be using one of them for a spotlight that will go on our dance floor. It’ll be a surprise to Champ, so shh, beez! :)

How will you incorporating monograms into the details of your wedding?

Wow!! I don’t know if you saw my post on the boards but I had a string titled “Non monogram monogram”! My new initials will be CC and his name is G so CCG would be the monogram and I just am not a big fan — but these are beautiful!! Thanks for posting this! Very helpful with my conundrum!

I have been looking for a good monogram website for awhile now, so thanks for this, it’s going in my favorites!

We’ll be using the monogram on the paper products, such as menu cards, programs, etc.

I used her as well and she is incredible. She had to rework my monogram in black and white so I could use in on my invites. Aimee is an absolute pleasure and very time sensitive. You get responses from her almost immediately. I love all her creativity!

I’m so glad that I have spread the Creative Montage/Aimee love and you didn’t even know it. Back in January I blogged about the wonderful Aimee — we used her monograms, invitations, save-the-dates, etc. See the final products in action in my old post here: http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/01/24/monograms-to-jazz-up-diy-projects/

I used Creative Montage for my monograms as well. Just have to say that Aimee is FABUOLOUS to work with. I had some problems (not her or the monograms fault, but technical difficulties always seem to find me!) and she was SOOO helpful and never made me feel bad for asking for help. And so affordable!
