About Mrs. Blush

Blushing…

October 14th, 2008 @ 12:44 pm by Mrs. Blush

… because I’m a BEEEEE!!! I literally jumped from my chair and did an NYC apartment scream when I received the wonderful news!! (An NYC apartment scream is a scream with the total heart and soul involved in a real scream, but muted due to the closeness of NYC apartments.)

I began reading Weddingbee in the summer of 2007 when Mr. Blush and I got engaged. Since then, I have been quite the avid reader. Weddingbee is truly one of a kind and I am grateful and honored to be part of this amazing community!

Now for the introductions:

Mr. Blush and I met in the summer of 2003 during an overseas internship. After a great summer (just as friends), we parted ways—he went back to Urbana-Champaign, and I headed back to Boston. He would send me an occasional “how are you” email, but that was about it and we lost touch. However, two years later during our senior year we began speaking again. Speaking turned into talking everyday for at least two hours, which then culminated into the beginning of a long-distance relationship.

In January of 2006, Mr. Blush was working in Chicago and I was working in NYC. We both had plans of Law School, hopefully in the same city! But during the fall of 2006, I began school In Pennsylvania and he started school in NYC. As hard as our first year of law school was, it was great having each other. First year students usually study the same material and we were only about 2 hours away from each other, so we spent most weekends together. However, more than the difficulty of a long-distance relationship, was my difficulty with law school. I didn’t like it one bit and I decided to sever ties with it after my first year.

In the summer of 2007, after two years of dating-bliss, Mr. Blush proposed to me at the Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Today, Mr. Blush is finishing his last year of school (hoothoot!) and I’m finishing my last year as a Post-Baccalaureate student. We both live in NYC! heart201

Yay, welcome to the hive!! I admit, I was excited to hear that Mr.Blush is a Illini alum… although I graduated in 2002. I bet we know some of the same people! Any chance you two will visit Chicago anytime soon? We would love another Bee Meetup! =)

and.. YES! we’re now both 20, but we’ve been friends since the 6th grade, and best friends since the 8th. i’ve known he was “the one” since 9th grade (crazy, eh?), and we didn’t start dating until senior year. it’s been a crazy ride!

Welcome. When you say post-baccalaureate, do you mean you plan to go to med school?

Just wondering.

Welcome Miss Blush!
In answer to your question, my fiance and I were friends for six years before we began dating and let me say that I never imagined that he was the one! Was their chemistry? Of course! But we were in our early twenties and far too self-involved to understand how lucky and special we were to have each other. At the core of our relationship, we have a long friendship that has crossed oceans and supported each other every step of the way. To start dating was such an exciting chapter of our lives - we knew so many pieces of each other but there was still so much to get to know. After “being together” for four years, he’s still my best friend, my biggest fan, and now my partner for life. I’m biased but if you ask me, we’ve got it pretty good!

We were friends for five years before our romance began on a spontaneous ski weekend together! It’s always amazing when the love of your life has been right under your nose for so long and you never realized it! Welcome.

Welcome Miss Blush!! Can’t wait to hear about your planning. I admire you for following your heart career-wise. My FI did one year of law school and, like you, decided it was not his cup of tea. It takes courage to make that move…

I can’t believe that Mr. Blush proposed to you at the Chicago Botanic Garden! As a Chicago-an, my guy & I go there all the time! It’s so beautiful! But I have to ask, did he propose in the rose garden? I love them rose garden!

Again, congratulations!
