I love paper, photography, hand-sanitizer, high ceilings, colored pencils, brunch, and Frosted Mini-Wheats. If I could, I would hand-write everything, travel without a map, stare at diamonds all day long, don my favorite stilettos to the supermarket, play with the NY Philharmonic, attach a Karaoke system to my car, and run 3 miles at 6 AM every morning. Mr. Blush and our families mean the world to me, and I can not wait to share our wedding preparations with you!
About Mrs. Blush

My Sis the Photog

October 17th, 2008 @ 1:03 pm by Mrs. Blush

Yes! My sister was our fabbbbulous photographer for a day!

Is she a professional photographer?? No.
How much did she charge? Nothing!

That’s right, we shot our first set of e-pics with my very own baby sister! (Well, she’s not a baby… more like 23 years old, but you know the older sister thing.)

It all began with us wanting two e-pic sessions—one in NYC (where Mr. Blush and I currently reside), and another back in Atlanta, my hometown. However, we didn’t want to pay another several hundred dollars, so I asked my sister if she would take the pictures for us! In a heartbeat she said yes, but quickly replied back, “Um… how do you shoot e-pics?”

Although this was my sister’s very first time shooting any type of “non-personal” pictures, she was absolutely brilliant!

So, when Mr. Blush and I were in Atlanta a few weekends ago, the three of us went to downtown Duluth and posed away. It was maybe the hottest day in HOTlanta, but we had a blast. Here are a few of them!

How have family members/close friends helped you cut down on your wedding costs?

YES! Invitations, I tell you! My cousin is a graphic designer and he has made almost every cousin’s wedding invitations and he’s less than half the price of what I would be paying with a professional. Hallelujah! lol.

Wow, those aren’t professional shots? Your sister should drop what she’s doing and go into business. I love the fountain one especially.

Love, love, love the fountain one! It looks like you had a wonderful day. How much fun is it when you can get something fantastic for free? The best part? You get to print off as many as you want without paying outrageous photographer fees! Seems perfect to me.

I second Mrs Pumpkin. Plus, whenever you’ll look at them you’ll know your sister took them which is so special.

@ms.earmuffs: That’s what’s great about photography as an art… what floats your boat might not be right for someone else and vice versa. There certainly are many different styles and many different levels of talent, but there really isn’t a right and a wrong.

It was very generous of your sister to give you this gift and I hope she had a great time, as did you!
