About Mrs. Blush

A Shoe Girl

October 19th, 2008 @ 3:03 pm by Mrs. Blush

My dress was #2 on the list because I wanted fabulous shoes.  I ordered my wedding dress (which is another entry entirely), and ended up saving soo much money, I knew I could splurge on shoes. But first I had to decide which ones?!! I wanted a light shade of pink or peach or ivory, and of course the more sparkle the better.

I’m 5’2 and Mr. Blush is 6’0 so bring on the heel! I went to Neiman Marcus awhile and tried on the ivory Louboutin peep toes (middle left). I have to admit, they weren’t the most comfortable but they sure looked faaabulous.

In another effort to convince myself that splurging on shoes is a good idea, I know that I will wear these shoes again. That was the whole idea behind my wedding dress - I knew I was going to wear it once, so I didn’t want to spend a lot on it. However, these shoes can be worn w/ anything at anytime! pleased

Coming up: the shoes I ended up buying!

Are you a Dress Bride or a Shoe Bride?

Shoe girl and dress girl. I have been struggling with deciding bc I bought these beautiful purple Loubitouns but they make me feel a little wobboly so now I am trying to decide between silver manolos or a pair of pink champange strappy Jimmy choos. I love shoes and my fiance thinks I’m crazy for considering these prices but I figure they are very special. purple shoes http://www.barneys.com/Dickensera/15901%2e6019,default,pd.html

I never thought about it that way BUT I must say I would be a shoe bride! Right now, I’m none. I’m still dressless and shoeless…8 months to go!!

There’s a gorgeous shoe by Chinese Laundry that is in a deep pink shade with gorgeous bow and nice 4 inch heel. check out their website.

I am both. Dress and shoe.

did you go to Lenox? Just wondering. I’m not going to pick mine out until I pick out the dress (I want lt. pink color dress..colors are cameo pink, shimmery light aqua blue, and black as accent) so until I get the dress on, I won’t know which color shoe to get.

Blush, you are a woman after my own heart. I am definitely a shoe bride, and I am stuck between a purple pair of Manolo sedarbys or a hot pair of Louboutins. What to do? What do do?

I am both as well ;-) I got the nude Alta Perla Louboutins…. soooo fabulous. Only problem is that the heels are 4″ and my fiance is only 3″ taller than me when we’re barefoot. Hmmm.

All of these shoes are HOT. I was never a shoe or dress gal, more like a hopelessly low maintenance gal. But all of this wedding planning has awakened a sleeping beast! Lately I’ve been obsessing A LOT over shoes. Can’t wait to see what you’ve chosen.

@fawndog: your shoes are so cute! is purple a color in your wedding decor? Purple is fun, but if you feel wobbly that could be dangerous! We don’t want any accidents during your wedding- especially because of the shoes!

@bellenga: I just checked out their site- they have so many cute shoes!! & Your colors are so fun!

@Lisa: Maybe the Mister can get a small heel on his shoes too! Men’s dress shoes usually have one inch “heels” these days. (Although we won’t call it a “heel” when he’s around)

I am sooo a shoe girl. I just brought my dress. It is now time to search for the perfect shoes. Love the Louboutin’s by the way. I have a feeling they will be my wedding shoe. Can’t wait to see the shoe you chose.

I got a great deal on my dress, but the FI doesn’t see the point in paying manolo prices for shoes. . . lucky for me, my co-workers have decided my wedding present from them will be shoes - one of them has quite a hefty investment in her own shoes - loves louboutins, says choos aren’t very comfy - so she’s a great resource for ideas, and believe you me - I know I’m a very lucky girl for having such amazing friends! So to answer your question, I guess I’m both.

Miss Blush, I love purple and it is one of my wedding colors. I also tried these Jimmy Choos on which are sooooo HIGH way to high for me but they have a platform so they were acutally pretty comfortable. http://www.jimmychoo.com/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=39847&fromPage=collection
Also, though not wedding shoes I just got some black JChoos on ebay for a steal.

I’m a shoe bride — you can wear them again! Maybe y’all can help me… I think I’m going to need a wedge heel since we’ll essentially be tromping around the woods, but I can’t find any that don’t have a rope base or are, um, ugly!

I’m a totally shoe bride! My shoes cost more than my dress (although I bought my dress at a AWESOME price). I ended up getting the last shoe pictured. Its actually a Christian Dior and mine is strapped around the ankle, not d’orsy. And let me tell you….I LOVE THEM! It was love a first sight and if you get that feeling…its priceless! Good luck!
