Balloons - Too Tacky? Revisited

October 20th, 2008 @ 9:33 am by Mrs. Pumpkin

Way back in May of last year, I posted about whether or not I should use some helium balloons in the peaks of our tent at the reception. I was worried that it would be too white, so I thought the splash of colour would be nice and that balloons would be a cheap way to accomplish that. The only way you saw them was to look up into the tops of the peaks of the tent and I think it worked beautifully.

Here is a picture of the tent as you’d normally see it with just the lanterns visible:

And here is a picture of what the inside of the peaks looked like with the lantern at the bottom:

Sorry for the GIANT time lapse in between those two posts but I just got this picture from one of Mr. Pumpkin’s Aunts and it’s the only one I’ve received of the balloons. I went with matching light pink and bright pink ribbon tails, rather than the brown satin, and I love the look.

Are you putting any hidden details in places just in case people look there?

Nice! I think balloons in a tent would be festive and classy. But I’m not too keen on a balloon arch or anything… reminds me of prom.. yikes! :)

I think the balloon were a great idea to add color :) I never would have thought of that.

Oh! The balloons look great! I was just having the same debate with myself (tacky/ not tacky), and I think you’ve helped me decide.

I wanted to put a couple bunches of clear balloons outside the entrance of our reception…save on crafts has these lights that illuminate them from the inside and it’d look pretty at night!

Wedding balloons can look tacky, sometimes less looks better. Have a look at the following web site for loads of examples in its’ gallery section.
