In Love With My Bustle!

October 20th, 2008 @ 1:27 pm by Mrs. Dumpling

Dress fittings aren’t that exciting. They pin you up, tuck your boobies in, tell you that you need bigger pads sewn in, stick you with pins on accident… you get the idea. But, this fitting was actually fun for me. We finally decided on a bustle! I love it, so I had to share it with all of you!

I don’t know if this qualifies as a French bustle, but it’s tied in three places and will lie under the beading in the back. Excuse the poor quality of the photos—they were taken with my cell phone.

Here is the back, without the bustle:

What kind of bustle are you doing?

I’ll admit to being a person not very impressed by bustles… I wished I could just drag my dress around long all night… but your bustle makes me swoon! I love it ! Its so fluffy, without being over the top! High five, Miss D!

It looks great! I too had a french bustle and loved it but I would definitly suggest having some heavy duty safety pins (someone suggested Diaper pins to me). Since it is bustled low I can guarentee that at least one of the ties will get broken over the course of the evening from either you walking on it accidentally or some one else doing so. Ultimatly all of mine did break but we just safety pinned it so it was fine.

I don’t have a bustle. I was ok with it until I saw yours!

You look beautiful and that bustle is just PERFECT! My dress is the vineyard ‘Jane’ which is fairly similar, I was considering a plain under-bustle, but yours has got me thinking!

lovely lovely bustle! i had a french five point bustle (because my train was a bit heavy–lace and beading). did you decide to keep the belty sash around the waist?

I am ordering the same dress, and it’s actually dress #2 for me. I wasn’t happy with my first one and is currently selling it if anybody is interested =) . I was wondering if you left the sash thing on around the waste? I am having a really hard time deciding whether or not if I want to keep it on there.

BTW you look great in the dress and I really like the bustle!
