I’ve Fallen for a Font!

October 20th, 2008 @ 3:31 pm by Mrs. Taffy

Lately I have been all typed out!

I can’t stop thinking about invitations, escort cards, menus, and wedding signage in general. It was becoming really difficult to imagine all of these details without having a specific font in mind. I knew that I wanted something feminine, with a vintage touch. Our Save the Date font, Helvetica, while lovely, just wasn’t going to do it for me.

This weekend, a promo booklet from Veer made its way into our mailbox. I flipped through it excitedly… although the lack of a font had been bugging me, it was one of those wedding things that I kept forgetting to take care of.

Lo and behold, our soon to be wedding font was right in front of me! May I present to you- Kon Tiki Enchanted:

We love it!!! I can’t wait to buy this… I want to see what our names look like in this specific font!!! I’m such a sap. I’m going to be like a girl in junior high, writing (ok, typing) my name next to Mr. Taffy’s, along with typing bride & groom, the names of my bridesmaids etc. :)

If being completely cute & fabulous wasn’t enough, it is also very affordable! I’m in love.

Are you using a special font for your big day?

Veer lets you type in a phrase (or your names) to try out if you register with them. I found this really helpful, because like you said, seeing your names in the font is the true test. I’ve spent hours on their site!

I’m in love with the Jane Austen font, and it’s free! I have even read some of her partial works & think it’s perfect for our “can’t afford a calligrapher” photography….one of my names starts with an ‘A’, and I’m even excited that ours are similar (not the typical cursive A….I am a DORK, but seeing my name in her handwriting made me spazzy.

Oh no, that website is dangerous, I love the fonts there! I don’t think we’ll use one special font, as I love too many fonts. We’ll try and narrow it down to a few that work well together.

Great font! I am using one that is very similar. It is called Honey Script and I downloaded it free from http://www.dafont.com. Check it out. You might be able to save some money!

I love this font. I also really like Feel Script, by Veer. But at $100 each, I can’t let myself get too drunk on Veer fonts.

@cannotwait: Jane Austen’s my fave too!

@IdahoSummer: I’m registered, but did not know that feature! Thanks!! I immediately entered in everything, the font is so cute, I love it!

@redkite: Thanks, I will check that font out before I take the plunge on veer. :)

@Miss Hot Cocoa: This font is only $49! I’m not sure why it is half the price of the other fonts, it’s so cute.

@Miss Blush: Thanks Miss Blush, I’ll check out the free site before buying. ;)

I used Isla Bella for a lot of my signage…it has a somewhat Art Nouveau feel that worked with my Owl & the Pussycat theme :)
