Where Do We Go? Over There!

October 21st, 2008 @ 11:19 am by Mrs. Coconut

Pardon the boring post, but with the wedding less than 2 weeks away, you’ll have to grant me that privilege. :)

Here’s a custom sign we ordered through Etsy from SignsByDiane. She did a fantastic job, right? We wanted something vintage/shabby chic looking to put in our house afterwards. That’s sort of been my go-to excuse for buying things lately. Ya dig?

We also ordered a poster from Etsy seller unlesssomeonelikeyou. It looks similar to this, but I didn’t want to blur out our information, so I’ll post the real thing after the wedding. We were originally going to have all our guests sign it, but we loved the print so much that we’ll just have our bridal party sign it and hang in our home after the wedding.

Anyone else cuckoo for signage?!?

We are lucky enough to have a friend with a printshop, who also has held local office and so has a lot of experience with signage! He took the electronic file of a monogram style depiction of our first names that our invitation designer had used on the front of the pocketfolds and did large signs (2 x 3 ft) on foam core. He then fixed them to stakes, and spent the morning of our wedding chatting up home-owners near our venue to get permission to place the signs in their yards. It was quite impressive, and a big help to many of our guests, as the route to our venue was kind of circuitous and not well marked. Of course we had a map and directions in the invitation, but signage never hurts - especially if it also looks fantastic!
