And it’s chocolate!
For our favors, I will be making chocolate numbers with candy molds I purchased from One Stop Candle. So, why numbers for a wedding favor? These numbers will also serve double duty as part of the escort cards. When each person goes into the reception hall, they will find their name and be seated at their table, indicated by the number spelled out in chocolate. Directional and delicious!
While I’ve seen escort and place cards made of chocolate, I’ve never seen chocolate numbers used as part of an escort card (and believe me, I did some mad Googling to find anything close). I think I may have truly come up with an original idea on this one!
Not counting the head table, our reception will have a maximum of 25 tables. With eight people seated at each, here’s the breakdown of how many chocolate numbers I’ll need to make:
1s = 104 (Tables 1, 10-19 and 21)
2s = 72 (Tables 2, 12 and 20 - 25)
3s = 24 (Tables 3, 13 and 23)
4s = 24 (Tables 4, 14 and 24)
5s = 24 (Tables 5, 15 and 25)
6s = 24 (Tables 6 and 16)
7s = 16 (Tables 7 and 17)
8s = 16 (Tables 8 and 18)
9s = 16 (Tables 9 and 19)
0s = 16 (Tables 10 and 20)
It takes about 20 minutes in the fridge for the chocolate to harden in the molds. I purchased three sets of the molds to help speed up the process, but even so, making all the numbers will be a little time consuming. I do, however, like the fact that we can personalize the chocolates by using a sugar-free variety for the diabetic guests.
Now, I have to get busy and come up with a way to package these babies.
Do you have any ideas on how we should present our chocolate escort numbers to our guests?
