Box It Up

October 24th, 2008 @ 3:41 pm by Mrs. Deviled Egg

Remember how I said we are going to do chocolate numbers for favors? Well, I thought I would show you the mock-up of how we’re planning on packaging these bad boys. Without further ado:

Box It Up : wedding pittsburgh placecards De12

Box It Up : wedding pittsburgh placecards De21

I made the boxes with the help of my Scor-pal, and used a Martha Stewart punch to do the lace. I also used a small, clear plastic treat bag for the chocolate. The green cardstock isn’t the right shade, but I used what I had on hand. I’ll be on the lookout for a good olive-y colored paper so I can start cutting and scoring the boxes. The best part is that I can have the boxes done way in advance (as in, I can get cracking now) and make the chocolates about 3-4 weeks prior to the wedding. The name cards won’t be attached until we give the final head count to the caterer and if we have to make a table change, I can just untie the ribbon and move the name card.

So, be honest. What do you think?

They look great! But how do you get the chocolate to stay in place and not fall on its side, etc?

They look great!

And you probably already know this, but if you make them 3-4 weeks out, just make sure you temper the chocolate so that it doesn’t “bloom.”

@Nstar: The bags are flat, so there isn’t much wiggle room. Plus the chocolate sticks to it a little, so I’m not to worried about them falling over. I have the bag taped to the box with some double-sided tape to help keep the bag in place, too.

@Mrs. Cookie: Thanks! I’m planning on doing a post with a how-to sometime soon. Probably after I find the right color cardstock.

I think these are fabulous… but holy snikeys, you have a lot of work to do! I’m with @AbbieOinCO. Much as I’d love to try it, I just know I couldn’t manage.
