About Mrs. Taffy

The dress that I bought this weekend from Anthropologie! I suppose it’s a bit early to find the “shower” dress, but it’s one more thing off of my list, which is splendid! I don’t think that the images on Anthropologie’s website are very clear (the colors are really pale), so I took some of my own this morning:

Isn’t it adorable? Here’s some detail shots of the front:

I love the grosgrain ribbon and the pleating detail at the waist!

And the back is racerback style, which is kind of unexpected. I love the second bow in the back!

Here’s the link to the dress on the Anthropologie site.

What’s sweet? I looove the color combination, and think it is perfect for the bridal shower! I also think it would make a great bridesmaid dress for a garden wedding in late spring or summer.

What’s short? It’s not really that short, but I think I’m going to do some modification to the hem by adding a pale pink crinoline or ruffle. I think the dress could use more of that lovely pink. Also, adding to the hem would make it tea length, which would make it even more attractive to me. If I can’t find a cute bolero to go with it, I might add another sewing project onto the list! ;)

Have you found the perfect dress for your bridal shower?

I love it! In the year before my wedding I bought 4 dresses from Anthropologie for our engagement party, showers, and rehearsal dinner! I love them but my wallet does not :)

Don’t wear a bolero - it will obscure the lovely detail in the back! Love this dress.

@M: @Shopaholica: I agree, it’s perfect without it, but my shower will probably be in March and I am always chilly! I’ll have to find some sort of sweater-shrug-wrap of some kind to keep me warm.

It’s adorable. You have a very unique — retro — style that I love. Perhaps a shawl instead of a bolero?

Is there anything in your wardrobe that you haven’t altered in some absolutely adorable way?

Cuuuuute! And so definitely very you. I bet it’s even more adorable on, for some reason I don’t think that hanger is doing that neckline justice!
