Mrs. Ballet Flat's Picture
Mrs. Ballet Flat, New Orleans Age and Occupation: 24, Geographic Information Systems Analyst Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, IT Analyst Engagement Date: March 16, 2008 Wedding Date: May, 2009 Blogging Since: September 25, 2008 Venue: St. Charles Borromeo Church/Jefferson-Orleans North About Me: I absolutely love wedding planning, spending time with Mr. Ballet Flat, various crafts, watching football, baking, pop music, bargain hunting and ice cream. My idea of a great date night is dinner and clearance shopping with Mr. Ballet Flat! I currently live below sea level in the suburbs near New Orleans, where I make maps all day, everyday for my job. I'm slowly becoming more and more obsessed with anything New Orleans related for our wedding, and I can't wait for the big day!
About Mrs. Ballet Flat

Dearest Martha,

I would just like to thank you for your wonderful crafty ideas throughout my teenage and young adult years (minus the prison sentence). I love your step by step ideas for the perfect bow, so I can make my invitations super perfect. I love your Everyday Food magazine, because your recipes are so simple yet delicious. But now, OMG, I think I’ve reached a small obsession with you when I saw this in Macy’s.

Martha, I'd Like You to Join My Kitchen : wedding new orleans registry Wish wish

Point blank, I want you in my kitchen. Well, not necessarily you, just the mixer. In fact, I think this would be a most excellent addition to our kitchen. While my future (acting currently as Mr. Ballet Flat’s bachelor microwave room… love you babe but it’s true!) kitchen is a rusty red color, I think its royal aquaness will bring a vintage-y appeal to my baking adventures. While I wish this was at Bed, Bath and Beyond, where we are registered, I’m OK with opening a registry at Macy’s just for your beautiful mixer. I’m sure Mr. Ballet Flat thinks I’m crazy, but this color just makes me want to bake 13 batches of cookies for no good reason!

Hive, is there one thing on your registry that makes you drool, smile, dance and giddy when you see it?

my fiance bought that for me for my bday this year, i can confirm it just wants to make you bake all the time, so even if you dont get it for your wedding, you must try for xmas or bday! p.s nothing against macy’s but you can get a better deal somewhere else online like amazon

My mom got a Kitchenaid stand mixer for her wedding. It’s a wonderful 70’s pea green color, but my brother recently waxed and polished it and it looks pretty darn good. Still running strong after 33 years!

I love that color! And everyday food! Mr Taffy’s mom always had it sent to his house before we moved in together. I miss it now!

Ooo I dont think they had this color when I was registering! I got a sparkly black one (Onyx)… HOW BORING IS THAT??? I was too lazy to exchange it for the green apple color (plus, I already busted the black one open to look at all its goodies) that matched our le creuset pots. SO LAME.

I love red and teal as a color combo! Not to mention the awesome baking power of a KitchenAid….

The new Martha colored mixer is very tempting, but I still think I want a pink one. Mr. DE thinks I’m crazy, though. I definitely need one, no matter what color it is.

Okay, I have to admit that I thought it was crazy how everyone registers for stand mixers — and I’m betting some people have never actually baked a thing that would require one (myself included). Then I found a fab recipe for homemade Oreos that just doesn’t come together without a mixer or food processor — so now I have an excuse to lust after one! This color is super fab, and would look great with a red kitchen.

Ooo I love it!! The kitchen aid mixer is the first thing I am registering for! My roommate had one a few years ago and I’ve been wanting my own ever since!

I got the imperial gray and the neutral color combined with the texture is just sexy. I wouldn’t mind having a bright color to really make things pop though.

I’m right with you on the mixer! I had to chase after Mr. Sushi at Macy’s; he refused to let me have the registry gun to scan that sucker. I mean, a registry is just a wish list, right? No one will really buy that thing for me. But if it’s on my registry I can buy it for myself at 10% off. :)

My kitchenaid mixer was the favorite gift I received at my first “non” wedding-shower. I LOVE IT. I love to bake, and this was the perfect gift for me. Can’t wait to get all those attachments, too!

@beaninca:

So jealous that you have the yellow one… I have a white one. I live in Canada, and where I live, the only choices where white, black, and silver (and red online)… I ended up with white because my kitchen is Robin’s Egg Blue and white. I do love my mixer though! I bought it about 2 weeks ago with my registry completion discount at Linen’s & Things.

I’ve named him Gus because to me, this machine is a work-horse and Gus just seemed to fit ;-)

(yeah yeah, I know - I’m a weirdo!)

@beaninca: Glad to hear it motivates your baking! I know this sounds materialistic, but it’s the color I’m looking for and Macy’s is the only place that carries it. They sometimes go on sale there too! :) Here’s to hoping, right?
@HistoryBride: 33 years…I love that. I hope if I get one, mine lasts that long too!
@Mrs. Penguin: **dies** You have Le Creuset?? I lust over those too….I have one on my registry but I doubt that’s gonna happen LOL!
@Miss Sushi: Amen to the completion discount!
