It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!

I was lazy and didn’t leave a comment when I read your article yesterday, but wanted to tell you belatedly that I really enjoyed it! I *hate* negotiating, but we couldn’t afford our photographer and were able to get her only because she agreed to lower her usual price. It helped that (1) she had just raised her prices, so we were able to get the old price, and (2) our negotiating “technique” was the truth — i.e. “You’re worth every penny of your fees and more, but we’re too poor to pay them, but we really really love and want you, can you PleasePleasePLEASE help!?!?!”

I completely agree with Mrs Tulip–the truth will set you free!..er… get you stuff for free! (ha) Ok, maybe not really, but a little genuine enthusiasm and appreciation does go a long way I’ve found. Way to go, Meaty.
