Mrs. Pinot Noir, New York/Napa Valley Age and Occupation: 24, Health Educator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Market Researcher Engagement Date: November 10, 2007 Wedding Date: October, 2008 Blogging Since: June 25, 2008 Venue: Auberge du Soleil About Me: I am a Minnesota raised, NYC transplant planning a destination wedding in Napa. I'm balancing my love for the environment and my hubby-to-be's love for tradition to create our "green wedding in disguise." Our wedding will include local food and wine, antique touches and lots of love and laughter. When wedding planning isn't taking up my free time (and money) I love to read, cook, workout, watch baseball and travel! Follow along in my adventure as I attempt to plan an eco-friendly and socially responsible wedding (with eco-oblivious Mr. Pinot Noir).
About Mrs. Pinot Noir

The first official event of the wedding weekend was the rehearsal dinner at The Waterfront Restaurant in San Francisco. This event might be better named The Groom’s Dinner (as it is often called in Minnesota) as we didn’t actually have a wedding rehearsal.

The evening started with wine and hors d’oeuvres on the patio. While it was a bit chilly, as San Francisco tends to be in October, everybody enjoyed themselves. It was a great chance to mingle before sitting down to dinner.

The rehearsal dinner was a great way to kick off the weekend and visit with our families. Even though we couldn’t invite everyone due to space availability, we were still glad we were able to invite our immediate and extended families (about 2/3 of the wedding guests).

The food was delicious and the views were amazing!

SIL Pinot Noir made the boys matching underwear for under their kilts. Mr. PN wanted to follow tradition and go commando but I put the kibosh on it since the ceremony was outdoors and I didn’t want any unexpected surprises! The underwear had cute “Game Over” symbols of a bride and groom with the wedding date underneath. Each pair was personalized with the guy’s wedding date and the maiden name of their wife on the behind (not pictured). :) The girls got personalized t-shirts too!

Next up… Wedding Day!

Wow, that view is amazing. We are getting married in a place with similar views of downtown Houston, can’t wait! Glad to see that your pictures turned out with the city lights in the background:-)

Also, please do tell where your SIL got those boxers, that is too funny!!!!

@erinfutureH: the boxers were a collaborative effort. The company that put the whole thing together is a NY based t-shirt company: Neighborhoodies (http://www.neighborhoodies.com/). However, since they don’t to boxer briefs, I had to go to Macy’s (in dreaded Herald Square) to buy the blank black boxers. Then the Neighborhoodies team were able to put the whole shebang together. I designed the logo, but they have designers on staff who can put it all together for you. I hope that helps.

Mr. Pinot Noir

I guess I should give a little background on the underwear thing. For whatever reason my mother loves to get her three boys the same underwear for gifts (ie x-mas etc.). She has also done it for all of my brothers weddings as well.

At this point it is a running joke in the PN family and from time to time you can catch us all wearing the same underwear design at family events (completely uncoordinated). It’s really just morphed into some sort of family tradition/joke that we all enjoy to a certain degree…
