By 7:00 AM, I was wide-awake. To be honest, I barely slept. The adrenaline, anxiety, and sheer joy of the moment hindered me from sleeping. I kept eyeing the alarm clock about every hour thinking, “Is it time to get up?” Since we decided to not see one another before the wedding ceremony, I kissed Mr. Cookie goodnight and spent my last night as a single gal with my MOH in a nearby Residence Inn. I tossed, turned, drifted into a fog, and then I was wide-awake.
Although I didn’t get the perfect night’s sleep, I was a ball of energy and nerves. I tried to eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast, took two bites, and was done. I could barely eat—too nervous. I guess my inner control freak was getting to me. I was so worried that all the DIY goodness that I had slaved over, and that I reluctantly put into the hands of both our parents to set-up, would not make it to Breckenridge intact. As I reach for my cell phone to appease my nerves, my MOH snatched it from my hands and rushed me to the nearest Starbucks. Once that caffeine hit my bloodstream, ironically the pre-wedding jitters subsided. What can I say, I am totally addicted to coffee and I had the best MOH ever!
We took a quick jaunt over to the hair stylist and then were off to Breckenridge.

The drive up to the high country was serene. It’s that time of year when the Aspens tickle the mountains with a magnificent yellow. The mid-morning light, mountain air, and sheer magnificence of the landscape was the kick I needed to bring it all into perspective. This was the day—our wedding day.
We headed up the windy mountain road to Ten Mile Station and settled into the bridal suite moments before my makeup artist arrived.

I had planned to DIY my make-up. However, on the trip to the Bobbi Brown makeup counter to bring home the Long-wear Gel Eyeliner, which you all recommended so highly, I instead bagged the whole DIY make-up idea and hired Liz. I was so glad I did. With shaking hands from the caffeine, I highly doubt I could have put my eyeliner on straight. More, it just felt nice to be pampered.

I gave a little gift to my fabulous bridesmaids. Then, all too soon, it was time to get into my dress…

I heard from many bees before me that the moment you slip into your wedding dress you are charged with emotion. I had no idea how powerful that moment was until I was there. A quick step, shimmy, and no longer was I a bride-to-be, but a bride. I promise, it is every bit as magical as you imagine it will be!

My dress had a gazillion buttons, one of my favorite features, which were so nimbly buttoned by my fabulous bridesmaids.
I wasn’t expecting what came next—a personalized toast from each bridesmaid and my mother…

I only remember the moment with tears of joy, hence tissue in hand, and the many beautiful well wishes for Mr. Cookie and my life together. Truly, I felt blessed to be surrounded by so much love.
I dried my tears and followed Michele of IN Photography into the forest for portraits. Hang tight, there is a bunch, and I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Cindy from Bloom did an amazing job with my bouquet.
And finally a kiss to my wonderful bridesmaids for their love and support. Seriously, I couldn’t have imagined the day without them! Each lady holds such a special place in my heart!
While the ladies and I were posing for portraits, the boys were up to their own shenanigans just a few feet away…
Unless noted, photos taken by the fabulous duo at IN Photography.
