With These Rings

October 31st, 2008 @ 5:07 pm by Mrs. Deviled Egg

We purchased our wedding bands one night after we leisurely went inside a local jewelry store just to look. I was actually surprised by how easy it was for us both to make a decision and pick out our rings. Mr. Deviled Egg found one that fit him perfectly–not too fancy, but classic. I found one that worked with with the setting of my engagement ring, and added a little bit of bling to the overall look.

Here’s what we chose:

His is titanium and mine is white gold with a half eternity setting.

Here’s how my band looks with my engagement ring:

I love how they look together, and I really like how the band looks great when worn sans the solitaire.

Anyone else skip the fuss of custom ordering and get your bands from your jeweler’s in-store selection?

My husband has the same ring. It is Benchmark or something like that, right? Make sure you register it online with them. His broke after 8 months (the jewelers claim it almost never happens) and that was how we got it replaced.

We also bought our rings from a jeweler, Helzberg. I fell in love with my ring (which is part of a bridal set, so it came with the wedding ring) and since my fiance was approved for enough credit to cover both the rings, we got them both then and there. I’m far too impatient to go the custom route. :P I don’t mind that other women are wearing my ring. I get compliments on it all the time and I doubt I’ll ever run into another girl that has it-but if I do, I’ll compliment her on her great taste! :)

My FH wants a titanium ring, too! I’ll have to show him Mr. DE’s, I bet he’d like it. You are right-very classic, with a neat twist being titanium.

My wedding band and e-ring are exactly like yours! My e-ring is also a 4 prong solitaire, the lack of 2 additional prongs really makes the stone sparkle, though from afar it looks more sqaure shaped than round. In any case, great picks on both bands!

Great choices! My husband bought my wedding set at a local jewelry store (the band is similar to yours) and I bought him a titanium band from a local jewelry store as well!

Do you mind sharing where you bought your rings, Miss Deviled Egg? My fiance purchased my engagement ring at Henne in Shadyside, and we really love the quality of their jewelry and customer service! We are going to look there for our wedding bands first, but I am curious if you recommend any other Pittsburgh jewelers.

Ohh… great rings!

Haha, we did the same thing! As we drove home, we were looking at each other like “did we seriously just buy rings that we will wear for the rest of our lives in 30 minutes?”

Actually, DH did end up exchanging his ring due to comfort reasons (do a weekend trial after picking them up!). But I’m 100% happy with mine, even though it was totally different than I had pictured.

@Megan: We purchased them at the Kay’s Jewelers in the South Side Works. We met up down there after work to grab dinner and ended up browsing at the jewelery store. Their service was great!

FI got my engagement ring from Shaw’s, and I absolutely love it. I went there in April and picked out my wedding band that went with it, and intended to come back when it was on sale. Well I went back a couple of weeks ago and the guy there said they didn’t have it anymore! I went to every other jewelry store in the mall, and no one had anything with what I want. So I went back to Shaw’s to talk to another lady there, not fully believing what the guy told me, and its true, they don’t even have my engagment ring anymore!! Oh the horror..but she did say that they could have it made for me, which of course would make it cost a bit more. There is a filigree pattern on the side of my e ring that I want put in the side of my band as well, so I guess thats the silver lining cuz the one I wanted originally was just a simple band with baguettes. So I told the FI that I know what I want and I’m getting exactly that and nothing less no matter how much more it costs since I’ll have to look at it for the rest of my life. The only thing that sucks is I will have to part with my e ring for a couple weeks so they can fit the band to it :( I’m going back after the holidays and hoping that I can get a good deal since we got the e ring there and my parents shop there too. Wish me luck!

Oh and I forgot to add the FI wants a tungsten band with carbon fiber inlay, which is only going to cost about $100! :) He also said he was going to get a tattoo of a ring on his finger since hes a mechanic and won’t be able to wear his all the time. I told him if that’s what he wants to do thats fine by me, just don’t ask me to do the same! I’m all for tattooes, but I know how much they hurt (I have 4) and my hands are sensitive! :)
