About Me: With a degree in Theatre I never realized that planning a wedding was a lot like Theatre Management, until I started planning my own. I am a coffee addict, especially Starbucks' Grande Mochas, yummy! I love to cook (especially chocolate chip cookies for my honey), travel to exotic places, and be creative. As a couple, Mr. Cookie and I are extremely practical, down to earth, and children at heart. We live in a cozy abode with our adorable Pomeranian, and love to play board games and watch movies into the evening.
I woke up the morning of our pig roast (the day after my bachelorette party) feeling really nauseated. I think it was a combination of pre-wedding jitters and that dirty martini I had the night before. Luckily, with the help of saltines and Vitamin Water, my nausea subsided by the afternoon enough for me to scarf down this succulent hog.

About Me: I absolutely love wedding planning, spending time with Mr. Ballet Flat, various crafts, watching football, baking, pop music, bargain hunting and ice cream. My idea of a great date night is dinner and clearance shopping with Mr. Ballet Flat! I currently live below sea level in the suburbs near New Orleans, where I make maps all day, everyday for my job. I'm slowly becoming more and more obsessed with anything New Orleans related for our wedding, and I can't wait for the big day!
As I mentioned in my last post, I love Martha Stewart. My absolute favorite wedding magazine is her Weddings magazine. She has wonderful inspiration pictures and most importantly, DIY projects.
I’m definitely incorporating a few of her projects into the wedding. Call me crazy but I LOVE crafts!

I’m sure this issue has come up before….
My high school best friend and I were inseparable through our first two years of college. We started to lose touch toward the end of college, and now we barely speak except for a few random text messages during holidays and birthdays. I still care for her, but we don’t have much in common; she’s still partying every night, and I’ve settled down and am getting married.
I told her I was getting married in June and wanted her to attend, but she’s upset that I didn’t ask her to be a bridesmaid. Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before? How do I let her know I still care, but can’t include her in my already maxed-out wedding party?
Thanks!

About Me: I moved around a lot growing up, but consider myself a Southerner at heart. I love scrapbooking, dancing, doggies, and diet coke. I am all about personalizing everything and hence, I'm a DIY bride who is just loving the entire wedding planning process! Mr. Daffodil and I met in our college fellowship group and were "just friends" for three years before we started dating. We've been together for four years now and can't wait to get married in sunny SoCal, Mr. Daffodil's hometown.

I will never forget the surreal experience of walking down the aisle. In all the blissful blur of the entire wedding day, walking down the aisle is the one moment that remains crystal clear in my mind. Have you guys ever seen the movie, “Big Fish”? I felt as if it were like the last scene in the movie, where the dad is heading toward the lake, his final destination, and along his path he sees the faces of everyone who played a significant role in his life - smiling, loving, egging him on. That’s really what it felt like to me, and I finally understood why that was such a perfect ending to that movie!

About Me: Somehow this little farm girl found herself a genuine Pole to fall in love and eventually move away to Poland with. I am an LDS bride attempting to plan a private religious ceremony, ring ceremony, seated reception for 100, and an open house while coordinating for guests flying in from across the United States and as far away as Poland. I try to avoid fads, excess waste, and saturated fat. I strongly endorse photography, DDR, calorie counting, rss feeds, cooking, and utilizing your resources.
Note: You will not be shaking with laughter while reading this post (as I am during the composing of it) unless you have read this post first.

About Me: I'm the stereotypical girl who enjoys sewing, baking, and decorating. I am blessed to share my life with Mr. Spring Roll and our two shih tzu's, Isabella and Gabriella. Hello Kitty, musicals, Target, and Chick-fil-a are a few of my favorite things. I have a fear of fish and Freddy Krueger. Planning our wedding has become a huge part of my life, and I love every minute of it!
As previously mentioned, Mr. Spring Roll and I will have a candy buffet at our wedding. I love candy (with the exception of those gross peanut butter taffies in the notorious orange and black wrappers). While the majority of the candy will be simple, we want to throw in a few customized items. Here are a few of my favorite customized candy ideas:

About Me: I am a Minnesota raised, NYC transplant planning a destination wedding in Napa. I'm balancing my love for the environment and my hubby-to-be's love for tradition to create our "green wedding in disguise." Our wedding will include local food and wine, antique touches and lots of love and laughter. When wedding planning isn't taking up my free time (and money) I love to read, cook, workout, watch baseball and travel! Follow along in my adventure as I attempt to plan an eco-friendly and socially responsible wedding (with eco-oblivious Mr. Pinot Noir).
The first official event of the wedding weekend was the rehearsal dinner at The Waterfront Restaurant in San Francisco. This event might be better named The Groom’s Dinner (as it is often called in Minnesota) as we didn’t actually have a wedding rehearsal.
The evening started with wine and hors d’oeuvres on the patio. While it was a bit chilly, as San Francisco tends to be in October, everybody enjoyed themselves. It was a great chance to mingle before sitting down to dinner.

About Me: Things that make me happy: Haribo Happy Cola gummies, TV shows on DVD, buying books although I never read them, 80’s rock ballads, ramen, and of course Mr. Martini! He is the calm, logical and number crunching finance guy. I can’t even multiply double digit numbers in my head and I am so indecisive that trying to choose between light green or slightly lighter green paper stresses me out (Wedding planning is going to be soooo much fun). We both find great joy in nabbing great seats at the movie theater for a blockbuster movie on opening weekend, and we are both absolutely crazy about snowboarding. And he loves to cook, I love to eat!
I know I have gained weight since I bought my wedding dress, but I never knew how bad it was until I tried it on again a few days ago. Not long after I bought the dress, I decided to stay FAR away from it until I started going to the gym because I honestly didn’t think it would fit me anymore. Everyone has been telling me, “You have so much time, you have so much time.” So when I stuff my face with burgers I tell myself that I have so much time, and then I freak out every time the calendar reminds me of how close the wedding actually is. So as you can imagine, my dress has been locked up, untouched in my parents’ walk-in closet carefully wrapped in a bed sheet.
But then…
Mr. Martini, please don’t read further!

We might even get Elvis to show up! I'm a HUGE Beatles fan, love The Office and can't wait to become a Mrs.!

Venue: Our home and the two acres it sits on
About Me: I’m an emotional girl who loves sentimental things, parenthetical asides, and trying to do things herself. I can cook, sew, am a whiz at planning, terrible at delegating, and totally in love with my fiancé (who will be my second husband but first love of the rest of my life). For our home/ garden/ DIY wedding, we’ll be moonlighting as interior designers, home improvers, and gardeners with the help of our fabulous friends and neighbors. We can’t wait to be married, and are learning how fun getting married can be.
The shadow of your former loves and lives follows you into any relationship. The stakes are upped when the previous relationship was a marriage, and it (obviously) failed. Who doesn’t love a “first”? First kiss, first love, first bite, first sip. “I’ve never done this before, been here before, felt like this before.” The “I’ve never” makes it special. But what if you have?
I have been engaged before, and I was pretty good at it. Do I have regrets? Yes, a few, and this is a great chance for a do-over. I wish that I’d been more sentimental, spiritual, connected. I wish that I’d felt the weight of my commitment and been able to say that I went ahead and got married anyway. I wish that I could say that I looked forward and saw difficult times and difficult moments and pledged myself and my life to my man with eyes wide open. I wish that I remembered our ceremony better, that I felt something (anything!) other than embarrassment and impatience. I wish that I’d known myself better, known him better, known the future better. So my “something new” is to revel in my sentimentality, be unapologetic about my spiritual needs, and feel the full weight of our future rather than avoid the uncomfortable feelings.
My “something old” is to get ahead of myself and screw it all up. Welcome to the real world, folks, where you can move on from anything but yourself.

Venue: Ceremony in a historic church, tented lawn reception at a golf and country club
About Me: 1950's housewife sent to the future, reborn as crafting-obsessed, jill of all trades. I enjoy decorating, writing, baking sweet things, singing show tunes/dancing in public, wearing pearls, and knitting sweaters for my furbaby, Harvey, to chew upon. I heart pink, and believe that sparkles are the new black.
Mr. Shortcake and I got married on October 4th because it was one of the only two dates available for our reception. The other date was October 31st, and I struggled to decide between the two. Loving Halloween as much as I do, I was pumped at the thought of having such a unique un-wedding-y wedding. In the end, we chose the 4th because our anniversaries would most likely revolve around our children’s activities in the future and we were set on having a special day all to ourselves. Sister Shortcake, on the other hand, is quite keen on tying the hangman’s knot and jumping the witch’s broom on October 31st (not that she’s engaged, but a girl can plan ahead, can’t she?
). To her then, and to any other boo-tiful brides out there, I dedicate this post.

About Me: I love melty cheese and diet coke almost as much as I love my man. I'm from Chicago, he's from NYC, and we both miss public transit and great pizza. We have an adorable muppet dog called Paco. I'm part hippie with a healthy dash of hip hop superstar, have excessive empathy for animals, and have not one, but two bionic eyes (long story). We're broke and it ain't no joke. It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!
Well well well… what a hot little couple we have here! But I must say, they look a bit familiar…
