I wrote a post 2 years ago about how I met Mrs. Butterfly - it’s a great story, and truly a tale of how small this world is!
Mrs. Butterfly and I had dinner and drinks this past Monday for my birthday, where she and two other friends surprised me with a New Kids on the Block concert afterwards! Talk about the best birthday present ever!
We’ve known each other for 5 years now, and have had so many funny, crazy, memorable times together. Mrs. Butterfly is a wonderfully generous, smart, and loyal friend, and I’m lucky that fate had our paths cross.
So much has happened in Mrs. Butterfly’s life since she got married, but I’ll let her tell you about that!
But first, here’s a picture of the two of us on her wedding day!

~~~
Woah. According to my little ticker, it’s been 23 months and 1 weeks since our wedding. I cannot believe that our 2 year anniversary is coming up so soon! Where did the time go? So what have I been doing for the past 23 months and 1 week? Well, Mr. Butterfly and I both got our MBA’s the summer following our wedding, then we both got new jobs. Oh yeah - we also had a baby! Here is the little bugger.
Ain’t he cute? His name is Logan and he just turned 6 months old. Like any new parent, I could go on and on (and on) about his accomplishments, but I won’t bore you with the details of his amazing ability to suck on his toes. Suffice it to say that he is the love of my life. Sorry Mr. Butterfly!
I’ve been out of the Weddingbee scene for awhile, I know. I think my life is centered around work, baby, work, baby, chores, and maybe sleep. There is no time for husband or my other baby (the dog), but it’s all good because Mr. Butterfly’s life is centered around the same things. The only one who suffers is our poor dog. I think he’s in shock from being demoted to second place. Heh. I’m hoping once Logan gets a bit older, they will become friends and I won’t have to feel guilty about not paying enough attention to the dog. Of course, then I would feel guilty about letting Logan poke and pull at the dog.
But I’ll worry about that later. My motto these days is one day at a time. As all of you brides know, finding time for yourself is very important to keep your sanity during wedding planning. It’s the same with mommy-hood. Finding time for myself and doing things I enjoy keeps me sane and makes me a better mother. For example, I fit in my blogging at 1:30 in the morning, because it’s the only time I can focus long enough to write anything longer than 2 sentences. I also meet with my trainer so that I can lose the baby fat (not the cute kind). It’s not much time, but I really do treasure every minute I can get.
I did do a few wedding related things over the past year. I printed out some of our engagement and wedding photos and decorated the apartment with them. We lived here for a full year before actually hanging up any pictures. How sad is that? But now the place is all “decorated” (meaning I put up a few pictures and rearranged our furniture). I also created a blurb album for our wedding. It took freaking forever to go through my favorite pictures because each photo reminded me of something funny or sweet from that awesome day. I think our wedding day was still the best day of my life, trumped only by the moment I got to see my son for the first time.
Ok, I’m getting all emotional here. That’s my cue to stop blogging and go to bed. Good night Weddingbee!
