Letter IMPRESS!

November 3rd, 2008 @ 4:04 pm by Mrs. Ballet Flat

Target just keeps giving me reasons to go in, spend my paycheck and still love them forever. If only I would have seen this before planning out our invitations, I think my DIY-crazed mind would have gravitated towards these.

I’m pretty sure I can speak for the hive when I say we all drool over a meticulously personalized letterpress invitation. It’s all about the texture, right? However, when it comes to the price tag of these beautiful invitations, some of our minds (at least mine) change.

**enter Letter Impress**

Target, in partnership with Gartner Studios has a line of premade invitations called Letter Impress. These are blank invitations, RSVPs and corresponding envelopes with the designs already on them. You get a set of 50 for $34.99!! Amazing deal right??

Check out some of these beautiful designs!

In addition, they also carry Letter Impress Save the Dates and Thank You notes.

To make it even more foolproof and tempting, they have the MS Word templates for each invitation type on their website! So, it really can’t get much easier than this!

Here’s a secret for you brides who have more than a year to plan. There are seasonal invitation kits and also some designs that go on MAJOR clearance when they are discontinued. I’m talking 75% off. I saw some fall kits on clearance at my local Target for $8.74 a kit! I also saw a Navy Blue Stripe box for 75% off and bought it. I figured, hey, one day, I could use these for some party I host… one day!

Clearances are my weakness…

So hive, what stationery hidden gems would you like to share with everyone?

I’m confused. Are they actually letterpress, or are they textured in some way?

Either way, I think they’d make fabulous (FAB-u-less) bridesmaid or MOB/ MOG gifts if you used a rubber stamp to personalize them.

Sigh. I heart paper goods.

@Miss Cheese: The designs on there are letterpressed, at least to my knowledge.

The paper is textured, and the images are impressed, but it isn’t ACTUAL letterpress.

However, to the vast majority of people, it would be considered letterpress, it’s just that — as someone who owns a press and stressed over 15 different types of paper before choosing the right one for our invitations — I happen to know that they aren’t actually letterpressed.

But, for the price, who cares?!

@Kenzie: My apologies. Thanks for the clarification on this, Kenzie.

I picked up the dandelion thank you cards that are sage green with a little brown on them which were our wedding colors! They’re perfect and much cheaper than their 10 pack of thank yous to boot! yay! :)

Yay! I was hoping someone would post on these… I got engaged back in March, and promptly bought the black filigree ones in April as my first wedding purchase! I’m quite excited about them… and I love that my first bridal thing was so thrifty!

I saw them! Someone…(not me I swear!) had opened a few boxes at my local target and I peeked inside. They’re not a true letterpress, but its they are beautiful and amazing for a bride on a budget!

@Miss Ballet Flat:

Oh, Miss Ballet Flat, I didn’t mean to sound harsh!

What I was trying to say is that they are fantastic and seriously, most any person wouldn’t know the difference.

I actually bought them in a moment of weakness, then thought of my letterpress and the awesome Crane Lettra paper I’d ordered, and I had to return them. However, if I had a printer that was less of a piece of #&!$ than the one I have, I would have TOTALLY used them.

I heart those invitations and can’t wait to see what some crafty DIY gal does to take them from awesome to incredible!!!

@nicole:

Hey Nicole,

Do you possibly still have those peony invites you bought back in November? I bought a box back then too, gartner changed the coloring on the new product, so now that I need a new box, the colors don’t match! I would LOVE to buy yours off you…..cnierenberg@hotmail.com. I know it’s a stretch but I’m desparate. Let me know. Thanks! Good luck girls with all your planning…
