About Mrs. Spring Roll

I’m so excited to do a post about ‘The Secret Life of Bees’. After going back and forth between secrets, I couldn’t choose just one. I’ve chosen three silly, maybe surprising, and hopefully entertaining secrets to share.

1. You wouldn’t know by looking at me, but I have around a dozen tattoos. Hidden underneath my clothes, mainly around my waist and back, they are my little secrets.

Ranging from stars to Hello Kitty, each tattoo means a lot to me.

Mr. Spring Roll and I have Isabella’s actual paw print tattooed on us (Gabriella’s will soon follow). Sister Spring Roll and I have matching sœur (meaning sister in French) tattoos. I also have a tattoo dedicated to my mom.

2. As a teenager, I nervously took the driving test to obtain my license. Unfortunately, I backed my mom’s new Saturn into a wall during the test. Hysterical, I asked the instructor why he didn’t warn me, to which he answered, “In real life there are no warnings.” Needless to say, I failed the test. While the car only suffered minor scratches (yay for dent-resistant plastic panels), I was so traumatized that I didn’t take the test again until I was 21. I passed! :)

3. My dream job is to be a pastry chef for Disney. Sadly, I lack the time and money for professional training, as well as the courage to change careers. I’ve declared myself the official cake baker for my family and workplace.

i also [LOVE] the idea of matching tattoos with your mr. and your sister!!

when my sister and her husband got married they got matching tattoos on their honeymoon in their last day in hawaii. they got some tiki local to the island they were on.

tattoos are better when they have an extra special meaning like the paw print with your mr. and the sister tattoo with your sister.

Those cakes are amazing!! I would be traumatized too if that happened during my driver’s test. At least it is a memorable story to tell…

Spring Roll-you are so talented! I say throw caution to the wind and switch careers! Of course I want to do the same and I’m too scared to do it too. LOVE your tattoos too-make me want to go out and get another one! :o)

Wow, your cakes are gorgeous! I, too, have always wanted to go to culinary school but am too fearful to quit my job and just cook for a living!!

Those cakes are beautiful! Are the designs made with buttercream frosting or with fondant?

love the tats, and the cakes look awesome! i would totally love to have talent like that, but unfortunately I am not the creative or artsy type at all. But luckily my BFF is very much so, so I am able to feed off her creative juices and attempt to pretend I am somewhat creative sometimes…lol if that made any sense! :)

I have 4 tats, one being a skull and crossbones with a red heart in the forehead to make it girly on my ankle. my best friend from middle school got matching ones this past year to remember are hardcore days back then (we were troubled teens to say the least). thank god for tough parents, I shudder to think of where we could be now if it weren’t for our moms kicking our a$$es when needed!
