About Mrs. Cherry Pie

… or is that CP’s P CPP? Whatever…

Hi Bees, it’s your regretfully absent friend, Mrs. Cherry Pie here to bust back into the wedding world. I know, I know, the last time you saw me I promised you non-pro pics to start the wedding recap while we waited. I suck, and work has been devouring my soul causing me to become a black, newlywed vortex of despair.

But! I am alive, if not “well,” and my life at home with Mr. CP is darn near perfect.

Anyhow, enough about me. I’m writing today with a WONDERFUL tool to help you pick your color palette: Multicolr!

Multicolr is a lovely little doodad that allows you to pick up to ten (10!!) colors from a palette and will instantly display pages and pages of gorgeous Flickr photos using those colors.

Look what it returned for a few color combos I tried:

And that’s just a small sample of the hundreds of images you’ll get back!

If you’re stumped on your wedding palette, Multicolr might just be able to help you:

  • Choose what colors look best together
  • Experiment with different combinations
  • Add a new color to your palette
  • Find great images for an inspiration board

Not to mention, it’s just reaaaallly fun to play with. Enjoy, and let me know if it works for you.

What other tools can you recommend for color palette picking?

Wow this is a really cool tool. It would be better if it could do percents, because my accent colors are coming out more of dominate colors, but whatevz.

Holy crap, what a great tool. I am always looking for ways I can use technology for budgeting and checklists and so forth but I forgot about all the great ways to choose color palettes online.

this is great - i love it! not only is it a fantastic way to find color matches, but you can get an idea of whether your colors are portraying the image you want. we’re going for a really natural, earthy look, so i put in my colors (brown, apple green, ivory and light blue)… and it returned a TON of gorgeous nature pics. exactly the mood we want!

Fun!

And you can play with the ratio if you select the same color several times. So if you had a main color of blue and a accent color of red, you’d just put two or three blues on there and only one red.

I LOVE THIS! It’s really helping me figure out what accent colors to incorporate.

@QuirkyParsnip: If you click your primary colors several times, it will increase their prominence and make your accent colors more “accent-y.”
