The Secret Life of Bees: Dahlia Edition

November 7th, 2008 @ 8:26 am by Ms. Dahlia

Following Penguin’s example, I thought I’d share my own secret. (Not that it is much of a secret, if you’ve noticed my absence of posts.)

I’m completely, totally, 100% over weddings - planning, recapping, blogging. Don’t get me wrong- our wedding turned out great, it was one of the most fun days of my life - but being married is so much better.

Writing picture-filled posts recapping the wedding takes time, and since I started working, time has been a precious commodity. And the recap posts that I have done have generated only a small amount of interest, which doesn’t help my minimal motivation to post.

So there you have it—my not-so-secret secret. Please let me know if you are interested in seeing more wedding pics; if there is enough interest, I’ll continue the recap.

As a Clevelander myself, I was LOVING your posts - the West Side Market was a idea I’d never considered - and it’s so fun actually having someone local to follow on here. Please continue!

you should most definitely continue your recaps! A lot of recap posts don’t get a lot of comments, but that doesn’t mean people are not looking and laughing and loving them! Recaps in general often just don’t not spur as much discussion as other topics. We love you and your wedding Dahlia and I for one want to see much more!

I, for one, was loving your recaps. But I totally get how time consuming they are. The thing that kept me going when I was doing mine was that I knew in the end I would always have them to go back to. Which is good since I still haven’t made any actual albums for us or our families!

I’m interested in reading your recaps - I’m not always the best at replying to them, though. I think they’re very lovely so far and want to see more!

I’m guilty of never commenting as well. Sorry! (Not only to you but to all the bees)

As much as I love reading about the fabulous DIY tutorials and clever ideas, I too love recap posts the most…because it’s a cumulation of all your hard work!

So, please, keep posting recaps.

(And I’ll get around to mine as well.)

Recaps are my favorite too, but I am definitely feeling your pain. They take FOREVER and then the comments are always so dang low. But please keep them coming, even if they end up terribly spaced out like mine! :)

I love recap posts, but I think everyone gets tired of saying “oh you look so beautiful, oh it’s all so wonderful”. But I’ll definitely be commenting on your posts from now on to encourage you to keep writing them!

I’m sure that these posts are soooo time consuming! I hardly ever post, but I wanted you to know that I read each and every one… and appreciate each and every one!! I’m sure that many others do the same!

I’ve read each and everyone of your posts..but don’t comment. Maybe we should ask that every reader comments every once in awhile!

This is the first comment I have ever posted… but that doesn’t make me any less interested in your posts. I seriously keep my blogspot account open and get updates EVERY time someone posts a new blog on Weddingbee! I read ALL of them!! And I have to agree with most of these ladies… the recaps are the best! It’s nice to see that all of your hard work paid off! Keep posting! I need something to look at! :)

I agree that recaps are the best kind of posts! I guess I don’t comment on them much because I don’t feel that I have anything to add (after all, how many comments do you need telling you how beautiful you look — OK, nevermind, that’s a stupid question, you can never have enough!) But regardless, they are my favorites to read!

I’m going against what everyone else has said. It’s not that I don’t read your posts; in fact, you are one of the few Bees that I read regularly.

But if you’re over it … you’re over it. And if your heart’s not in it, then I think that you’ve earned your chance to bow out.

On the other hand, I love seeing Ken’s work, so I wouldn’t mind if you continued.

I hope you can find peace with the decision you make!

I totally understand how you could just be tired and ready to move on… but I’ll admit, I am DYING to see all your awesome details in action! I come to WB every day with baited breath. Oh please please, continue the recaps!!

I completely understand about the time and effort it takes to do the recaps, and I’ll make sure to comment on all of them in future, because I LOVE them! And I remember yours, so I hope you continue. As a blogger who loves comments, I really should make more of an effort to comment elsewhere. Please don’t feel let-down by your shortage of comments - I know everyone was enjoying them as much as I was, and probably just didn’t bother to say so.
