Oh Happy Day: Parent Dances

November 7th, 2008 @ 4:32 pm by Mrs. Toucan

Luckily, after I had gotten cake down my dress, it was time to change into a new one–my qipao! My qipao was my 3rd outfit of the night (I wore my white wedding gown and qua before). Right after I got changed, we had our parent dances. Since I’m not one to be the center of attention, we opted to have our father-daughter and mother-son dances at the same time.

I love Daddy Toucan. :)

and Mr. Toucan loves his momma.

While Daddy Toucan and I were quite tame during the parent dance…

pause and smile for the camera!

I can’t really say the same about Mr. Toucan and MIL Toucan…

Mr. Toucan told me later that his mom grabbed the back of his vest and just yanked! Now there’s one graceful dip! They had a good laugh about it after…

I’m glad we chose to do the parent dances simultaneously–Mr. Toucan and MIL Toucan certainly took the attention off of us for awhile! Is anyone else planning on doing their parent dances this way?

I am having a father-daughter dance, and a stepfather-daughter dance. So we are going to do the mother-son dance at the same time that I dance with my stepfather. Also qipao is gorgeous!

We’re planning on doing mother-son and daughter-father dances at the same time too! I’m afraid our guests would get bored if we did it otherwise. ;)

Your dress is so gorgeous on you! I love how I can feel all the happiness that went on at your wedding! Even in the background of pics you can see everyone laughing it up. So cute!

@cannotwait: Sadly, I can’t remember! We totally forgot to pick a song, so when it came time for it, we just had the DJ pick one!
@Veronica: I had it custom made in Hong Kong last December!
