The Secret Life of Bees: Dumpling Edition

November 10th, 2008 @ 9:33 am by Mrs. Dumpling

I think it’s obvious that I’m silly and not afraid to embarrass myself in public (as evidenced here, here and here), but let me share a few more things about myself to really seal the deal.

1. I’m a huge fan of cheesy pop music and cheesy teenager television shows. Gossip Girl, ANTM, Miley Cyrus, Spice Girls, NKOTB, LMNT, Hanson… yeah. All that stuff makes me happy. I’m the annoying girl next to you in traffic who has all the windows down and the sunroof open blaring MmmmBop. I also went to the New Kids concert last month and remembered the “New Kids Dance” as in “get on the floor and do the New Kids dance… oh oh OH oh Oh Hangin’ Tough” and danced in the aisles with my two left feet.

2. I got drunk and sang karaoke (badly) at my dad’s wedding. Why is this shocking? Because I do not drink alcohol. Really—I can count the number of times I’ve been intoxicated on one hand. But, for some reason, the waiter kept filling my wine glass and I didn’t notice and kept drinking. Totally embarrassing having to get a ride home from your parents’ house after probably only having a total of one and a half glasses of wine. Can you say cheap date? I still *cringe* every time I think of it.

That’s the Dumpling glazed over look. I do not remember taking this picture.

3. I eat dumplings for breakfast. See below.

Cannibalism at Dim Sum

Hhhhmmmmm… I wonder if Mrs. Avocado eats guacamole? Do you think Miss Cheese eats cheese dip? What about Mrs. Cupcake… think she has a sweet tooth? Meatball, Lemonade, Deviled Egg, Spring Roll, Champagne, any other food/beverage Bees… consider yourself CHALLENGED!

i was a hardcore hanson fan. honestly, i still love them. ha. they’re new stuff is good! maybe i’m just hypnotized by taylor’s ridiculous good looks. also, hangin’ tough was the first song my fiance learned to sing. apparently he used to sing it nonstop. promising, eh? just know you’re not alone! ;)

You are so cute!!!! Love the dumpling pictures. NKOTB was my first concert in 1988, it was a split show with Tiffany! I was in heaven. I remember my mom being really impressed with their dance moves at the show. :) I eat candy constantly, but I don’t eat actual taffy very often!

I never thought I would be able to write such a sentence, but: I had you for dinner last night and you were delicious.

As revenge, I encourage you to try Starbuck’s salted caramel hot chocolate. It’s yummy.

I’m embarrassed by my love of Gossip Girl, but it’s so opposite from my life, it’s a weird curiosity…plus I love the evil plotting of Blair, haha.

Who doesn’t like a good pop band? I just bought the NKOTB Greatest Hits album and fell in love all over again! It’s on sale for $9.99 at Target as we speak:)

I’ve seen NKOTB many times over the years (and met them too!) and paid $175 for a “VIP” ticket for their DC show last month. It was worth every frickin’ penny, I had 11th row center! :D
